For the girls...
Jun 23rd, 2007 at 11:10am

This is a topic for the women of ozpolitic..but guys may comment.

The topic is ..

Why are men and women so different in how they interpret life and situations..

Is it hormones-social conditoning-or something else.

Some women say men can only manage  one task at a time and only use one half of they're brain at a time..

Women can multitask, but men cant.

What does this say about the way male and female brains function Wink Cheesy

Is Homer a good representation of average male intelligence?
Grin

mmmm...maybe

It has to be a combination of hormones and genetics.  You look at two children being brought up in the same household - one boy and one girl.  In most cases the girl becomes multi-skilled almost automatically - whereas the boy tends to be more basically physical and gravitate towards sport.  Try teaching a boy to sew or fold his clothes up neatly - he might give it a half hearted attempt, but the interest isn't there or the ability to make a habit of it.  On the other hand, most girls have no interest in racing their bike along a rough dirt track or taking their skateboard down to the local skatepark.  In every way males and females are equal - they just gravitate towards different interests.

Of course this doesn't apply to all girls and boys - but probably the majority.

this is true mantra..

males and females are equal..for instance there are tasks that men like to do that women are not so great at and dont want to do.

I never looked at it from my sons perspective I guess as he is still only just 11..but yes I do see differences but very few similarities between him and his sister.

He is always looking for someone to play catch with him and his sister is too busy with a book or something else.Theyre interests are quite different.

But I do know a few Homers.

Men are generally good at math and girls literature and comprehension.
