Sport is primarily about getting 'fit'.
Sport is also bent to include 'winning' - be it for Trophy or some other 'prize' like $$$ as a bonus to getting fit.
Some people would punish their bodies for this Sporting bonus and even do nasty things to others to achieve it.
These people often get chronic fatigue later in life from being 'over-achievers' when it comes to getting 'fit' for want of 'exhaustion'.

So thus we have all these 'Sports' fishermen getting 'fit' killing sea species in a very non-sustainable way as proven by now many depleted and extinct species.
Being a 'Sporty' Fisherman means if you kill the most, the biggest and the rarest species - you get a nice shiny Trophy that says you are better than everyone else... oh, and fit as well.

Average Joe Blow fisher:Oh look! I've killed 15 fish - just for some 'Sport' and 'Fun' recreation on the weekend. No other real reason.
