Sorry not really interested in anyone's tinpot theory if they think they have women figured out.

I often found the opposite, I am usually nice which often gets confused by some women as I am hitting on them and often attracts attention from others. Its case by case for me you need to be able to read a situation on its merits ..... but if you think you have some trick about fooling women then it will come back on you !

not fooling women at all.
but you have to understand where they are coming from.
we are historical creatures to the core.
we all carry baggage.
you say that it is a "tinpot" theory to try to "figure women out".
i say it is absolutley vital to communication in  a relationship to "figure women out" and to not do so is fatal  Wink

Just as Aquascoot's 'nasty' woman just flirts her way towards getting free drinks and meals.
So too do men 'deceive' and get free sex by 'nice' women.
You can get anything you want if you con, lie and deceive, etc.
I knew one guy who picked up women from just looking at their lips all the time. Good for a 'short-term' FIX. But nothing to really throw the responsibility of a long-term and 'real' relationship on.
Then there is the addiction of 'short-term fixes' for sex, where - in time, such people can NOT step up to the long term relationship.
Many MRI scans have shown the brain 'grow' in part, for those in Long Term relationships. The 'commitment' I guess commits to continued growth.
Where-as the promiscuous people have no growth at all and also tend to be people you can't rely on in the work-place: lack dedication, commitment, etc.

I've worked with guys who 'just root around' - the work like 'Tools'  Roll Eyes

Take the Black North American Man and the Grey (Raven haired rock star) North American Man. The so-called 'Wankers' of USA Society. All about sleeping with as many women as possible (but never breeding as well as the Rednecks) and even shagging the President's wife.
They both end up in dead-end pleb jobs (if they make money - they are usually alcoholic, drug-addicted) and living on the street inside a card-board box with a glory hole.

So Pick Up lines only go so far and are mostly just used by the promiscuous playing 'the game' for the slutty women who are easily swayed by 'simple words, used for the occasion' only.

I've never been bothered with being wily with words to get girls. It's like wearing a shirt that isn't mine or pretending to work a job that I don't really do - just to impress.
Such people who 'play the game' are mostly shallow, superficial, uncommitted, selfish and eventually boring.

good post jasin and a lot of insight in there.

Tinder has been a revolution for dating.
and there is little evidence that its going to be a long term benefit.

but we cant get past the basic point that a young man has to be a fool before he can be a master.
you cant be good with women ( or more importantly good FOR women) without going thru that awkwardness and making mistakes.
mistakes are par for the course.

it is worrying that young men are not being taught the skills to be in a successful relationship.
and those skills are NOT  to get a flash car, a nice watch and designer jeans.
thats just the marketing people leading young men down a dead end street.

they would be much better reading your advice  Wink

I've known so many people.
Who live the promiscuous life.
They now have the Internet, with its many variations of 'Hooking Up' with people.
Guys tell me they are sleeping with a different women each day. So the women are doing the same, I'm sure.
That constant swapping of saliva (Cold sores) per day.
If no condom, I doubt a blood test every day.
It's a giant 'sex addiction' scene.
Where eventually they can't stop and if no-one else is around, then it leads onto getting the 'fix' from anyone (rape?) and anything (Animals)?

I've known 'sex-addicts': It's just as bad as drugs or alcohol. Possibly worse. They will compromise themselves in order to get that sexual fix with anyone and anything.
When the urge comes, that Addict will go that 'boy' who just happened to be in the vicinity. Even women can't help themselves, even later in life.

Too much of a Good thing can be Bad for you.
(Over-Achievers: and Australia is getting full of them)

i think the jury is out.
but one of the things about ,say, a commited relationship, is that you cant run away from your problems and you have to solve them . and learning to solve problems creates growth and the willingness to take on problems creates meaning.

tinder, would seem on the face of it, to make it easier to meet people and reduces the exit cost from a relationship.

if you can exit more easily, there is less pressure to stay and work out solutions.

so, by making things easier, it makes you weaker.

thats true of most things.

theres the easy route and theres the route that leads to improvement and they are rarely the same

Therein lies the problem with 'no fault divorces'. Couples everywhere, busting up families, and proclaiming 'Irreconcilable differences'. Gawd.

the temptation of the "path of least resistance".
the easy route.

its the same desire for things to be easy that makes people eat a big mac rather then generate a salad.
its the same desire for things to be easy that makes people inject steroids rather then lift heavy weights at the gym
its the same desire for things to be easy that makes people attracted to socialism and "taking' from the successful rather then going on the brutal journey to build a business  Wink

the easy way is rarely the right way

Unlike the Catholic Clergy (Celibate ...except for the Paedos) and their rabbit-breeding Followers (the  Mass)

Protestant Clergy invented 'Divorce' so they can have more wives and kids. The Protestant Clergy are the breeders and their Followers (Mass) are in it for the 'Money', hence why they wave their hands in the air "We're gonna be rich" and start little kit-pyramid scheme businesses.
I think Scientology & Mormonism became a  mutation from Protestantism?
