Good on you Ausnat.

I went to a learn to dance class a while ago. Was hopelessly outnumbered by females. About 7:1.
One of my brothers goes to a few yoga classes. he says it is even WORSE !!!
So, probably good areas to go to .
At the very least, you get a night out, learn to dance or some new yoga moves.
Oh, be careful of yoga, the exercises feel gentle, but are much more .... pyhsical than what they feel at the time.
For most people, it is a different exercise. take it VERY easy.

pender, many go to prostitutes for much more than sex.
many prostitutes genuinely like men.

Ausnat - there ain't no men at yoga classes. At all. After all, look at how you reacted ?
It never occurred to me at all.  My brother said it is jaw dropping.

jaw dropping.
About 14 women in lycra stretching slowly all around him.

But, as you said, yeah, not a manly thing to do.
Sometimes, I just accept the good places I am in.

Hmm... perving doesn't do me any good... I'd prefer to actually get hands on rather than driving myself nuts looking at a girl that I want all the time but can't get.

But anyway... back on topic...

I think prostitution is a good service for some... but turns ugly when drugs and pimps are brought into it.

Brothels are fine I guess... street prostitutes... no.

On that note... do you think male prostitutes should be banned?  Wink

Definately. Pimps should be hung.

yeah, the criminals running prostitution bring the many damaging aspects of it .
banning anything only encourages its usage. eg the prohibition in usa.

I see prostitution (male or female) and illegal drugs as more a medical/social issue than a legal one.
Part of being an old hippie I guess. But am looking at reducing the negative effects of either.

yes, pretty "unchristian" in many ways, very christian in others. There you go.

Well personally I think drugs are for medical purposes and not 'recreation' Sprint. I'm a little hypocritical though i guess.. seeing as I had four beers tonight.  Tongue

I think it's definitely a waste of money. I know some really promising peoplethat ruin their lives and go bankrupt on drugs... just a terrible waste of life. That's why I'm against it.

I'm pretty sure it is decriminilised in most states of Aussie
Which I entirely agree with.
Keep the crims out and it becomes safer, cleaner, generates taxes
Same as with drugs.

Probiting anything generally only adds an allure to its usage. It promotes the very thing that is "bad."
Making it illegal, gives criminals a easy path to money.

Brothel laws 'will lead to corruption'

http://www.smh.com.au/news/breaking-news/brothel-laws-will-lead-to-corruption/2007/06/26/1182623902709.html

New laws giving NSW councils greater powers to crack down on illegal brothels could lead to more corruption in the industry, sex workers claim.

Prostitutes, massage parlour workers and their supporters protested outside NSW Parliament as the Brothels Legislation Amendment Bill was introduced into the upper house.

The proposed laws passed the lower house last week.

The government says under the bill, council orders to close illegal brothels will become effective within five working days, local courts will be allowed to order that gas and water supplies be cut off, and a loophole allowing illegal brothel owners to possibly avoid prosecution by selling or transferring a lease will be closed.

UK to remove prostitute term

http://www.smh.com.au/news/World/UK-to-remove-prostitute-term/2007/06/28/1182624080745.html

Britain is proposing to remove the term "prostitute" from the criminal statutes because it carries too much stigma.

Instead, a new bill that the Justice Ministry has drafted refers simply to persons who sell sex persistently - defined as twice or more in three months.

The new bill introduces measures to try to get sex workers out of the industry, and in effect decriminalises prostitution for those who are not considered persistent.
