This is my future for Australia. The rich and powerful will continue to live separately in their guarded enclaves in utter contentment. They will continue to sell as out at the drop of a hat. The divided and conquered masses will experience an increase  in civil unrest along socio economic, racial and religious grounds.

Open your eyes, see further, see broader, see deeper, get some vision to future, otherwise you always stuck in the above brain washed loophole, economy was never bad, race was never a true problem, religions are separate topic, not affects your life.

When you want 3, you normally get 2. When you only want 1, you get nothing.

US becomes today's US, because they participated WW2, fought in cold war, landed on moon. So you get internet, GPS, ...
If they put their heads in sands, didn't see big picture, they would only be another Brasil. Anyway, they got brilliant things done because of smart European migrants especially Jews, not those local dumbs.

If America is so great why are they fighting foreign wars that they send the poor to while the American people are struggling. Their country is awash with civil unrest. It's a sick nation because the American system is sick. The American leaders have no respect for the people under them. Same thing here.

If the world is a united and peaceful place, you are absolutely right. Unfortunately, in the real world, people organized as countries and compete, hate, hurt or war with each other. Absolute equality doesn't exist in anywhere, and if there isn't enough poor - rich distribution, then the country would fail; if the distribution is too wide, it fails as well. European socialists already proved the prior model, Russia/China proves the latter one. Political correctness is drug, numb the society's intelligence. Comparing many other countries, especially big countries, US has already done good enough in middle way.

Worldwide, the rich countries will get sick of supporting the poor countries' welfare. The poor countries that don't reciprocate by continuing to supply whatever resources that they have at a discounted price, will suffer. Mass emigration from those countries that are basket cases will lead to a new economic migrant (refugee) problem. Otherwise, these other countries will deal with a re-evaluation of how they conduct their economies.

These factors will determine how Australia's future shapes. Australia should be well positioned to be a multi-functional society with exports of natural resources, primary industries, etc. Their may be a new round of high tech industries that can develop innovative technologies.

With FTTN, with cuts to education spending, with continuing to hollow out the economy we will become the poor white trash of Asia.

Well, believe it or not,
WE ARE ALL INTERLINKED,
SO THERE ARE A FEW LIKELY ECONOMIC & OTHER OUTCOMES,
BASED ON THAT INTERLINKING
& THE BASIS ON WHICH PEOPLE ARE LIKELY TO MAKE CURRENT & FUTURE DECISIONS,
WHICH MAY NOT NECESSARILY ALWAYS FIT NEATLY WITH WHAT IS EXPECTED, per the Public, the Pollies or TPTB!

Actually, I think cuts in spending on the education department will lead students to valuing their future more. Then they will knuckle down and do more study during their 12 years of schooling.

Correct.

However, I think we'll call it a Republic, rather than a "Replublic".
