first time joiner, long time viewer
must say some of the comments on here are out there, i think if you said them in day to day happenings you would be guaranteed to have a fist in your face. However, i love the fact that on here, you cant.
Not one to usually discuss politics or money outside family, due to the heated nature of my discussion, but looking forward to hearing outsider opinions and getting handy hints

Hi everyone,
I am only new, so thought I would introduce myself.
Mum to a 3 year old boy.
Born and raised in the bush. Mongrel bred Australian.
"deferred" uni (for 12 years)
Moved to city after school for work .
Married my high school sweet heart at 22.
Slopped around in blood and guts in meat works for 9 years on night shift to pay the mortgage and paid taxes out the wazoo.
Fell pregnant, had my gorgeous son.
Got divorced after 10 yrs. Lost everything (materially) but have my boy 100% of the time.
Going to uni now, getting myself educated so I can support him regardless of anything else.
Dad/Granddad/great dads all ex army diggers. (Vietnam/WW1/WW2). Great Grandad mum's side veteran of Gallipoli. Mum and 8 other members of my family all school teachers.
Proud of my family (all steps and stairs, races and breeds of them) and love my country. Vote labor (usually).
A tad outspoken Wink i am looking forward to participating and learning new perspectives!
kind regards Smiley

Welcome, Tara - and best wishes for the impending the onslaught by the resident rabid right whingers (who, thankfully, are somewhat balanced-out by their more reasonable Conservative peers)!

Hello. I am Doctor Brocolli. I have PhDs in applied physics/psychology/biology/medicine and was for a period of my life, a professor at several prominent German universities. I decided to retire in Wilcannia, Australia, after having fond memories of the town after visiting in the 1960s to conduct an experiment for my doctoral thesis in medicine.

So, I haven't had much of a look around yet. What colours dominate discussion on this lovely forum? Red? Blue? Green?

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Catch ya around.

My pumpkin time beckons but welcome to all new political tragics...

Tough question, Arthur - suffice to say that:

The blues think in only black and white - and love to hate the reds and greens...
The reds and greens think in shades of grey and brown - and hate to love the blues...
The numbers are fairly evenly balanced, the minds not necessarily so - and that's regardless of hue...

Yer, I'm shyte at poetry - so it's a good thing that I don't take myself too seriously!

Anyways, welcome - enjoy!
