You have discovered that waking up with a hangover is not mandatory, or necessary.

I have managed to reduce to a cuppla beers at the end of the day.  Dropped wine and spirits off the shopping list.  I discovered that if I don't buy it, I don't drink it.

I havent had a drink since 2009 - doctors orders at the time but i never started back up again when the way was clear

I've done the same with alcohol and soft drink ... no doctors orders. Just decided to flush out my system

I tend to have a beer in the middle of the week and on Saturday. Suits me.

A bottle of wine lasts me two days but I stick to beer pretty much.

I want to start sobriety and stick to it for the rest of the year. And I would not mind going the next two or three years sober. I have spent probably $500 on booze (plus cola to mix in) over the last 5 weeks. It has only been the last week that I have lost the desire to drink. As if something in my subconscious switched the temptation for alcohol off.

90 DAYS SINCE I LAST HAD A BEER!

A week since my last scotch.

I was given a bottle of bubbly by the agent that handled the sale of Mum’s house. Still sitting on the countertop.

Might open it Saturday and drink half of it while chatting with some US homebrewers (on something like zoom.)


I may have some very good news to celebrate by then!

I bought a litre bottle of scotch last night. Had it not been for my minor illness (hypoglycemia) I had before I had my meal and sleep, I probably would have had a few drinks last night. I want to open the bottle after 4 this afternoon and see how much I can drink. If you find me writing on ozpol tonight, just ignore me.

Reminds me of the story about the Allen clan of Appalachia from the early 20th century.

Members of the Allen clan were hauling a wagon full of moonshine when they were stopped by the local sheriff and his deputies. The sheriff served the clan leader with a court-ordered warrant to search the wagon.

I am actually surprised at how good I feel today. As if my problems have disappeared.

I have not had a drink for about 6 months.

Gone totally off it, better things to do, want a better life

Went away for a week last month playing golf. First day was 18 schooners. then it dropped to about 16 the other days.

Normally I don't drink at all only on occasions.

Now back to zero alcohol till a few on XMas day.
