husband the last to see her?????>..

The family of missing Sydney businesswoman Melissa Caddick has made a desperate plea for her to come home as mystery grows around her sudden disappearance.

There has been no trace of the 49-year-old since midnight last Thursday at her Dover Heights mansion in the Eastern Suburbs.

Her husband, Anthony Koletti, told police his wife went for a run at 5:30am.

She didn’t take her phone or wallet with her and police have been unable to find any trace of Mrs Caddick.

That includes reviewing CCTV cameras from around the Dover Heights area and land and air searches along the coastline.

In a press conference with Bondi police today, Mr Koletti described his wife as a “dedicated mother, beautiful daughter, sister and loving wife”.

“We are asking the community to help bring Melissa home. That is all,” he said.

“This is out of character. We just need the communities of Australia to come together to help bring her home.”

Mr Koletti said Ms Caddick always took her phone on her morning run but didn’t last Thursday.

Ms Caddick was embroiled in a legal battle with the corporate watchdog over her business, Maliver Pty Limited, in the lead up to her disappearance.

Last week the Federal Court made orders to prevent her from sending money offshore, selling property or withdrawing funds from 17 bank accounts.

he Australian Federal Police also executed a search warrant on her Wallangra Road two days before she disappeared in relation to the financial investigation.

Ms Caddick’s brother, Adam Grimley, said her disappearance was extremely out of character.

Her house is about a 20 min run to the gap but there's plenty of closers spots near her house to jump from.

Maybe she got sprung doing something shonky then jumped?

Two days before she vanished, Australian Federal Police (AFP) raided her Wallangra Road property as part of an ongoing investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

I read a bit more about this. Apparently the CCTV camera attached to their garage wasn't working on the morning she "left".  How convenient! The hubby looks a little guilty and what about the teenage son who heard the front door shut at 5.30 in the morning?  All very weird.

More in the news this morning!

Quote:
The Whatsapp account of a missing Sydney businesswoman has mysteriously been accessed at least twice since she disappeared from her $7million cliffside mansion.

Mother-of-one Ms Caddick, 49, hasn't been seen since she disappeared from her Dover Heights home about 5.30am on November 12 - a fortnight ago.

A friend of Ms Caddick's has revealed her WhatsApp account linked to her phone number updated to say it had been 'last seen' at 1.44pm on Tuesday this week.

Before that, a 'last seen' alert popped up on the previous Thursday, at 10.02pm, according to screenshots supplied to Daily Mail Australia.

The NSW Police Force did not directly respond to questions about whether investigators or another party had accessed Ms Caddick's WhatsApp account.

Instead, a police spokeswoman urged anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.

A bogus CommSec document allegedly shows missing businesswoman Melissa Caddick swindling investors by claiming they were making remarkable returns.

Daily Mail Australia has obtained a share portfolio statement the Sydney financial adviser allegedly sent to a client to mark the end of the 2014-15 financial year.

The statement purported to show the extraordinary gains that Ms Caddick's wealth management company, Maliver Pty Ltd, had earned for its clients.

It claimed an investor had made a stunning 257 per cent return - or $118,000 - on an original $33,000 investment in Macquarie Bank stocks.

But the apparent forgery also allegedly contained the seeds of Ms Caddick's business unraveling when CommSec confirmed the paperwork was faked, the investor said.
'We called CommSec and they confirmed it was not a real account number ... they said the documents are fake,' the investor told Daily Mail Australia.

'I said, "they can't be, as it has your logo on top" ... She had (allegedly) copied and pasted the lot.'

Daily Mail Australia has independently established the document is not genuine. CommSec doesn't even produce a document called a 'portfolio statement'.

The words 'FY2014-2015' aren't written to the bank's typical style and the disclaimer down the bottom is wrong. (However, Macquarie stocks have enjoyed a meteoric rise, the price almost tripling since 2013.)

The investor said Ms Caddick failed to give them satisfactory answers when they confronted her about the alleged CommSec account. 'This is how the whole thing started with ASIC.'

It's understood 'the sh**t hit the fan' for Ms Caddick several months ago - when other parties came forward with concerns about their investments and her company, Maliver.

Another Sydney financial planner also alleged Ms Caddick had wrongly been using her financial services licence.

'I can't speak about Melissa Caddick,' the planner said on Tuesday, flatly declining to comment.

ASIC has confirmed it is investigating whether Ms Caddick had been using an Australian Financial Services licence that didn't belong to her, if she had misused investors' funds and if she was working as a financial adviser without a licence.

At the weekend a Sydney Morning Herald report claimed Ms Caddick's operation was run like a 'Ponzi scheme'.

That means funds allegedly plunged into Ms Caddick's company by later investors were used to pay out the returns of earlier investors.

The investor the Mail spoke to - a former friend of Ms Caddick's - confirmed that was their understanding of how the alleged scam worked.

The investor said they only got back about $60,000 of the $240,000 they had invested in Maliver over the years.

ASIC declined to comment on its theory about how Ms Caddick's enterprise allegedly worked.

'The investigation is ongoing, so we aren’t making any conclusions on how things worked just yet,' a spokeswoman said.

Ms Caddick led an extravagant life right up until she went missing on November 12, almost four weeks ago.

She holidayed in Aspen, flaunted Stefano Canturi jewellery, drove a $300,000 Audi R8 and called a $6.2million Dover Heights mansion home.

The mother-of-one disappeared two days after her assets had been frozen by the Federal Court and her home was raided over the ASIC investigation.

Police have been left baffled by her disappearance but are pursuing several lines of inquiry, including that she may have absconded.

There has been no sign of her despite detectives' searches of her 'jogging route' and family members have urged her to return to her cliffside home.

Kate Tejano, a friend of Ms Caddick's husband Anthony, floated a theory that the missing woman made the 'choice' to disappear while she 'figures out what's going on'.

Ms Tejano made the remarks to a Facebook discussion page about the case, but backed away from her comment after questioning, saying she was simply making an 'assumption like everyone else in this group'. (There is no suggestion Mr Koletti was involved in Ms Caddick's disappearance.)

ASIC's case against Ms Caddick briefly returned to the Federal Court on Tuesday morning.

A hearing over whether a receiver will be appointed over her property and a liquidator to her business has been listed for next week.

'She's in a lot of trouble for a lot of things,' the investor said.

Missing millionaire Melissa Caddick was a no-show when the case against her by the corporate regulator ASIC was mentioned in the Federal Court this morning.

ASIC has applied to the court to appoint a provisional liquidator to the Ms Caddick’s company Maliver.

Ms Caddick, 49, was last seen in the early hours on Thursday November 12, two days after the Federal Police raided her $7 million clifftop home in Wallangra Road, Dover Heights as part of an investigation by ASIC.

he Federal Court has frozen her assets including her 17 bank accounts and confiscated her passport as ASIC investigates claims that the businesswoman scammed investors in her company, Maliver Pty Ltd, of as much as $40 million.

Ms Caddick granted her older brother Adam Grimley an Enduring Power of Attorney and he was represented in court today by his lawyer David Sulman.

Mr Grimley has earlier said he spoke to his sister two days before she disappeared after the mother-of-one apparently left home about 5.30am on November 12 to go on her usual morning run. Her husband, DJ and former hairdresser Anthony Koletti, said it was unusual for her not to take her phone.

Her disappearance was not mentioned in court this morning and the case was adjourned to December 15 by Justice Kathleen Farrell.

Among the lines of investigation, police are looking at whether she staged her own disappearance. The CCTV hard drive outside her home had been seized by the AFP so there is no record of her leaving.

Records show that as well as her Dover Heights home which she bought in 2014 for $6,200,000, Ms Caddick also owns a three-bedroom unit with sweeping harbour views in Ocean Street, Edgecliff which she bought for $2,550,000 in November 2016.

She used to run her business from a previous home in Iris Street, Paddington which she sold for $930,000 in 2006.

She must have had wind of all this and pre-arranged her "disappearance".  Somebody like that couldn't go and just live in a caravan park. She probably has something in a false name and bank accounts and so forth to be able to live the way that she "has become accustomed". If she can cheat people out of their money, she can create a "new life" for herself, easy peasy.  Probably hubby knows all about it. I bet she gets caught, eventually, though.  ;)

When one of Melissa Caddick’s long-term clients checked their share investments with the Commonwealth Bank after her disappearance, they got the shock of their lives.

The couple were told the documents did not look right and there was no record of the direct investment account or their $450,000 self managed super fund.

“They told us (the CommSec portfolio statements) were forgeries,” the investor said.
Every account number set up for them by Ms Caddick was one digit short.

“They were pretty good forgeries, you wouldn’t pick it up,” he said.

Like many of the Dover Heights businesswoman’s clients, the couple were friends who had been exposed to her world of wealth, extravagance and what seemed like professionalism.

The 49-year-old made them believe they were making high returns on their superannuation investments by providing fake monthly CommSec statements.

The investor told The Saturday Telegraph he “implicitly trusted” Ms Caddick. He had known her family for 20 years before investing his and his wife’s superannuation with her.

“We started out in 2014 but we got our money back,” he said. “She had said she was getting rid of her smaller clients but now I know what I know, it was caused by my accountant asking questions and not getting answers.”

The man, who like many of her clients had shared dinners with Mrs Caddick at her $7m home, withdrew his funds in February but in July asked about reinvesting superannuation with her.

Ms Caddick agreed to do it but told the man his accountant “was too slow”.

She asked him to go through another accountant, who was looking after several of her other clients.

“Every month she sent us a statement – we even had to pay tax on it,” the man said.

The couple last heard from Ms Caddick the day before she disappeared — Tuesday, November 10 — when she sent an email requesting a document.

When she went missing, she was at the centre of an Australian Securities and Investment Commission investigation.

Because many of her investors trusted her with their superannuation, Ms Caddick didn’t need to worry about regular withdrawals.

“You could see the amount was growing in the monthly statements you get from her,” another man, whose family invested with Ms Caddick, said.

Asked where she might be, the investor said: “She was a meticulous planner and she must have realised this was going to close in on her. I think she has implemented her plan B and probably with a new identity.”

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/truecrimeaustralia/police-courts/melissa-caddick-missing-millionaire-used-clients-money-to-pay-off-credit-card-court/news-story/f5a218ea1f6e0311b3ab65ef54bbd0ea

Missing millionaire businesswoman Melissa Caddick used $691,275 of clients’ money from just one of her 29 bank accounts to pay off her Amex credit card bill, the Federal Court has been told.

It’s alleged the money was splurged on high-end travel and luxury goods from her favourite brands including Chanel, Christian Dior and Canturi while she forged documents from CommSec telling her clients how well their investments were doing, it is alleged.

She told clients she would accept nothing less than a minimum investment of $250,000 but mixed their money with her own accounts, which included 29 bank accounts and two in the name of her 15-year-old son, according to documents tendered by the corporate watchdog ASIC.

Ms Caddick, 49, was last seen in the early hours of November 12 — two days after the Federal Police raided her $7 million clifftop home in Dover Heights as part of the ASIC investigation into claims she scammed investors in her company, Maliver Pty Ltd, of as much as $40 million.

Court documents reveal that one of her accounts with the NAB held around 36 potential client deposits of more than $3.9 million between 2018 and June this year.

As well as the Amex bill, she transferred $250,000 to two Qantas accounts and $50,000 into a local account which was used to pay off a penthouse apartment at Edgecliff, as well as more to other accounts.

.
“Of those funds that are ultimately invested in shares, it appears that very little profit is generated by either capital growth or dividend payments,” an affidavit from ASIC investigator Lucy Allen alleges.

ASIC has applied to the court to appoint a provisional liquidator to her company.

The Federal Court has frozen her assets including the bank accounts and confiscated her passport as ASIC claimed she had a US bank account and “means to travel overseas at short notice”. Ms Caddick went overseas 20 times between 2009 and October 6 this year. ASIC has the names of at least 61 investors or potential investors it is talking to.

One man invested around $5 million with Ms Caddick for his self-managed super fund.

ASIC traced another investment of $2.5 million by the mother of a school friend of Ms Caddick’s son. They found that Ms Caddick transferred $2.4m into her own account, of which $34,600 went on Amex.

Ms Caddick’s disappearance is being investigated by the state’s homicide squad but there is no evidence of what has happened to her.

I would think shes long left the country...probably to a country we have no extradition with..

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/melissa-caddick-missing-millionaires-extravagant-spending-revealed-in-court/news-story/01eecc5a81242f623ecb8cce40c5e835

Devastated investors who look to have lost millions to missing businesswoman Melissa Caddick don’t want her son’s $66,000 a year private school fees to come out of what may be left, the Federal Court was told on Tuesday.

The clients, who include surgeons, are “strongly” against increasing the weekly living allowance for her ex-hairdresser husband Anthony Koletti and her 15-year-old son from $800 a week, counsel for the corporate watchdog ASIC said.

“ASIC is getting correspondence from investors who are deeply aggrieved,” Stephanie Fendekian told the court.

The ASIC investigation began on September 8 this year and she said one “distressed” group alone had invested $13.1 million with the majority of those investors having “not received funds back to date”.

They opposed funding the “lifestyle” of her family, including the husband who doesn’t work, the court was told.

Ms Caddick, 49, was the sole breadwinner and her assets have been frozen, leaving Mr Koletti unable to access them as he claims he needs the $66,000 upfront cost of private school fees, $2000 a month for income protection and $600 a month to cover transport costs.

His application for more expenses will be decided tomorrow morning in court. Neither Mr Koletti nor his son is accused of any wrongdoing.

MELISSA CADDICK’S INCREDIBLE SPLURGING
Ms Caddick's incredible splurging on luxury goods and holidays has been revealed in the ASIC documents.

Between December 18, 2017 and August 16, 2020, records show she spent:

Dior: $229,277
Chanel: $48,588
Cosmopolitan Shoes: $52,548
Louis Vuitton: $17,777
Valentino: $14,180
Canturi Jewellers: $187,650
Net-A-Porter: $39,575
Oscar De La Renta: $14,180
Personal expenses: $291,744
Justice Brigitte Markovic said that with Ms Caddick missing and the fact she was the only director of her company Maliver, the situation was “drastic” enough to warrant the appointment of a receiver to her affairs and a provisional liquidator to Maliver.

The court has heard evidence that from the tips of her Chanel-shod feet to the Dior frocks and winters in affluent Aspen, Melissa Caddick was the epitome of eastern suburbs excess.

In New York, she whipped out her Amex card at luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman to spend $17,617. In Sydney she was a regular at Dior where she splashed out on almost $250,000 worth of goodies within three years.

Then there were the trips: London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
In two trips to Fiji alone in 2018 and 2019 she managed to spend $63,022.

But ASIC alleges it wasn’t all her own cash that she was splashing around. Most of it belonged to investors who never checked that she had no Australian financial services licence when they handed the personable mother their millions to invest. They were told others had doubled their portfolios in a year.

Now they are concerned and distressed, the court was told.

In total 61 investors have been spoken to by ASIC and their identities have been suppressed. Some of them are surgeons, one had appointed her trustee of his $5 million self-managed super fund. One law firm, Bridges Lawyers, represents clients who invested $5.3 million with her. At least $13.1 million has gone missing, the court heard.

MELISSA CADDICK'S TRAVEL EXPENSES
The documents also reveal her love of high-end travel with the following expenses in that same period:

Aspen $35,151
Fiji: $63,002
Flight Centre: $108,586
Hong Kong: $18,877
Jetabroad: $5,783
Melbourne: $2,651
New York: $37,283
North of Nell: $34,223
Perth: $183.37
Qantas: $55,609
Tokyo: $2,141
Whistler: $43,273

no way didnt the husband no something wasnt quite right about all that...
.....seriously  she wouldnt have had time to sleep

At the same time, she owed $5,605,553 on her two home loans.

The money included $3,879,553 which she noted was for ”MC and AG Home” and $1,726,000 which she noted was for “MC Home”, according to her banking records which have been tendered to the Federal Court.

The husband of missing millionaire Melissa Caddick has revealed he has just $1.95 in his bank account.

Anthony Koletti has detailed how he has struggled since Ms Caddick disappeared five weeks ago and her bank accounts were frozen as part of a multimillion-dollar investigation by the corporate watchdog ASIC.

His bank account tendered to the Federal Court shows a balance of just $1.95 as of December 4 with his last purchases being $44.95 at Rose Bay Coles and $55.75 at Supermart Rose Bay as well as regular payments to PayPal.

The part-time hairdresser who hasn’t worked since Covid struck in March, said he has no assets of his own while the cost of paying home loans, insurance, food, the cleaner, $60 for cigarettes and counselling for himself costs $21,612 per calendar month.

Then there s $2000 insurance for Ms Caddick’s Mercedes and upfront school fees of $66,000 for her teenage son.

She has done a runner.

No evidence of foul play.

Lots of money is missing.

Fools have been parted from their money.

Very clever strategy. The investors won't be able to recover money from her husband, and he will be free in time to sell his assets and join her wherever she has gone.

By the time Australian sleepy police unravel the web of arrangements, the money will be long gone and beyond recovery.

But ... Cods will be able to sleep in peace knowing the miscreant wasn't a battered wife.

The family of missing Sydney businesswoman Melissa Caddick will have a new interim living allowance granted by the Federal Court while Ms Caddick’s assets remain frozen.

Ms Caddick disappeared shortly after her home was raided by the Australian Federal Police as part of an Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) investigation into her and her business, Maliver Pty Ltd.

ASIC has filed civil proceedings against her in the Federal Court.

An initial order freezing her assets allowed for $800 per week for her husband and 15-year-old son, but their lawyers asked for an increase.

The family first requested a change to $4880 a week, a sum described as “staggering” by lawyers for ASIC.

On Thursday morning the Federal Court heard a new sum had been arrived at from barrister David Sulan, who is representing Ms Caddick’s brother Adam Grimley as her representative.

“ASIC neither opposes nor consents to that figure, it’s a matter for the court,” said ASIC barrister Stephanie Fendekian.

Justice Brigitte Markovic indicated she would make the order.

The figure was not revealed in court

why doesnt the court tell HIM TO GET A JOB?.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/melissa-caddick-police-believe-missing-millionaire-is-very-much-alive/news-story/688acc82693806338805d121812f331d

Detectives have widened the net in the search for accused fraudster Melissa Caddick, with a theory she fled to Queensland after disappearing the night officers raided her Sydney mansion.

Police involved in the search for the millionaire businesswoman, suspected of siphoning off her clients’ investments to fund a lavish lifestyle, believe she is “very much still alive” and could be on the run interstate after failing to unearth a single clue to her whereabouts since she left her clifftop home 68 days ago.

Senior officers have spent hundreds of hours trawling through CCTV footage panning the exclusive Dover Heights street where she lived and investigated “a mountain” of tips from the public leading them to query the assumption she left her $7 million home about 5.30am on November 12, when her son told police he thought he heard the “click” of the front door when she left for a run

More than $20 million of investors’ funds, predominantly savings of her rich friends, was deposited into Ms Caddick’s account between January 2018 and September 18, 2020, according to documents filed in the Federal Court.

Bank records show the accused fraudster spent an astonishing amount on luxury clothes, limousines, travel, mortgage payments and protein shakes.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said Ms Caddick’s perplexing disappearance remained a missing persons investigation.

“We are treating the case as she is still alive,” the commissioner told Ben Fordham on 2GB.

“There are two aspects to this ... the NSW Police is leading a missing person investigation into her going missing. The Australian Security Investment Commission is also running an investigation into potential frauds in relation to superannuation investments in the millions, perhaps the tens of millions of dollars.

Ms Caddick’s disappearance has reportedly stunned her family. Those close to her parents say they were so unsuspecting of her alleged fraudulent activities they have sunk into a deep depression.

“Ted and Barbara just sit at home staring, they don’t eat, friends have to go around and spoon feed them.

“It’s so sad, they just can’t get their heads around what’s happened to Melissa, that ASIC are investigating their daughter,” one family friend told The Daily Telegraph. “They’re waiting for the debt collectors to throw them out of the apartment.

Melissa adores her elderly parents, they, and her son, are everything to her — she bought the parents the Edgecliff apartment so they were comfortable in old age.

“She sold their house and bought them the penthouse several years ago.

“Barbara used to love her gym sessions, she hasn’t left the house once since Melissa walked out on them.”

Thirty-six hours after their last conversation, Mr Koletti reported his wife’s disappearance at an eastern suburbs police station.

I wonder what they have to make them so sure she is still alive....

The plot thickens!

Quote:
Missing millionaire Melissa Caddick may have spent months planning her own disappearance, according to her scorned brother-in-law.

The businesswoman, 49, vanished on November 12, two days after an AFP raid on her $6.1million Sydney home for allegedly siphoning money from her clients to fund her lavish lifestyle.

Chris Koletti now claims his sister-in-law likely meticulously staged her disappearance and didn't tell her husband Anthony Koletti because he was 'too dumb' and 'can't keep a secret'.

He also said she would probably return to face the music when she 'runs out of money'.

Police have chased down 50 tip-offs regarding the whereabouts of missing woman Melissa Caddick, with the search stretching to Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.

The tips have ranged from sightings in the street to information from the public about where she might be.

For a fleeting moment, detectives even turned their sights to the Northern Territory after noticing Mrs Caddick’s husband, Anthony Koletti, had received phone calls from a landline in the Top End before she vanished.

“Every lead has been followed and nothing has come out of it,” a police source said.

Missing woman Melissa Caddick allegedly fleeced at least 20 more “distressed” victims who have come forward to complain they were duped of millions, according to ASIC.

Sources close to the investigation say corporate watchdog Australian Securities and Investments Commission and receivers have fielded calls from more investors in the last six weeks bumping the roll call of the 61 complainants towards 100.

The charming financial adviser who allegedly operated an elaborate Ponzi scheme and solicited friends, family and colleagues to invest in her company knowing they were less likely to question her motives, vanished from her $6 million Dover Heights home in the hours after Australian Federal Police and ASIC officers raided her affairs three months ago.

She is accused of squirrelling away millions of dollars of investors’ funds in 29 personal and company bank accounts instead of investing in shares so she could access investor funds to bankroll her $600,000-a-year lifestyle.

Sources say she cast her net wider than originally thought with the number of alleged victims continuing to rise

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/truecrimeaustralia/police-courts/investors-believe-melissa-caddicks-estate-is-worth-56-million/news-story/8daf9685ee1ddcbe94c8fb16dcd56cf0

A group of 15 people who invested nearly $6 million with Melissa Caddick want her Dover Heights mansion and other assets sold immediately and the net proceeds paid to those she allegedly duped.

The group‘s lawyer has drafted “position papers” setting out their claim over the alleged fraudster’s estate in a bid to stop it being eroded by her family’s living expenses and legal fees.

The group estimates the runaway financial adviser may owe as much as $25m to investors and that her net assets could be as much as $5.6m, giving a maximum potential return of 21 cents in the dollar.

However, in correspondence sent to the corporate regulator ASIC, they express concern that as much as $750,000 of this could be chewed up by living expenses and legal fees if the assets aren‘t sold quickly.

The Federal Court awarded Caddick’s unemployed husband Anthony Koletti $1,700 a week living expenses including school fees for her teenage son after he told the court he had only $1.95 in his bank account. Her younger brother Adam Grimley has racked up $110,000 in legal fees.

The money we invested was entrusted to be managed in shares for our futures. We want to get justice, we want her found and held accountable.

“What’s happened has been deeply upsetting and disheartening. We have to get on with our working lives, we have to be parents, it has affected our entire lives and our children.”

Financial records show that from January 2018 until September 2020 a total of $20.279 million was deposited into Caddick’s accounts of which she has withdrawn all but $674,966.97.

Dominic Calabria, a partner at Bridges Lawyers, who detailed the“position paper” for court states Caddick’s $7.5 million Dover home is worth $3,370,446.93 when the mortgage is paid. The $3.2million Edgecliff penthouse she bought her parents has a net worth of $1,524,000.00

It is the Investors whose interests are those that need protecting, no one is seeking to punish persons against whom no positive findings have been made one way or the other,” Mr Calabria said.

“Ms Caddick and Mr Koletti household and the Caddick family members have been financing their living expenses for some period of time, seemingly many years, through the use of Investor Funds … For how long is it reasonable for Caddick family members to continue to live on Investors Funds?”

Caddick vanished from her Dover Heights hours after AFP and ASIC raided her home on November 11.
.

ASIC’s case against Ms Caddick will return to court on February 22 where the administrators of her company are expected to detail their investigations into where the money has gone

I would want them sold as well.....why isnt the husband WORKING ????

Missing accountant Melissa Caddick went on a document-shredding spree around the time the corporate watchdog began investigating her over claims of a multimillion-dollar fraud.

Former colleagues who worked with the Dover Heights businesswoman have provided police with an important insight into Ms Caddick’s professional life and behaviour before her disappearance last November

The women and their families unwittingly became alleged victims after trusting Ms Caddick with their life savings.

The news comes as authorities edge closer to launching a criminal investigation into Ms Caddick’s alleged scam and adding her name to NSW’s wanted list.

While the mother-of-one, 49, has not been seen since the Australian Securities and Investments Commission raided her home on November 11, police suspect she may still be alive.

Investigators recently learnt that Ms Caddick organised a document destruction company to get rid of hundreds of files from her home in September last year.

The company swept up the documents and destroyed them all offsite.

At the time, Ms Caddick was running her finance firm Maliver Pty Ltd from an office inside her $6m mansion, where she also hosted clients for lavish lunches and dinners.

The shredding occurred around September 8, when ASIC kicked off its investigation into Ms Caddick after learning she was using someone else’s Australian Financial Services Licence to manage clients’ money.

please dont tell me Anthony didnt know about this. :-/

she goes walkabout in Nov    so she had plenty of time to make arrangements to disappear.....things might change when she is no longer classed as a missing person.

Goodness knows where she is. She would have had Plan B, no doubt about it.  The Police have undoubtedly used Photoshop to create a few different pictures of her (with different hair styles, etc).  She is a plain looking woman and without the jewels and fashion garments she would blend in quite well anywhere and not be noticed.  ;)

The husband and son of missing businesswoman Melissa Caddick have had their weekly living allowance stopped by the Federal Court because there is no more money to pay them.

The alleged conwoman’s disappearance has left unemployed hairdresser Anthony Koletti and his teenage stepson, 15, high and dry with just $5600 currently in Ms Caddick’s 29 bank accounts which had over $20 million flowing through them in one year alone.

The court yesterday ordered an end to the $1700 weekly allowance including the teenager’s private school fees as devastated investors were also given the bad news that there is unlikely to be much money for them either.

I cant see any reason why he doesnt have a JOB.... >:( >:( >:(

Unfortunately, you could be right Gordon! The Gap is well known spot for suicides.

The Gap is full of CCTV these days so if she went there, they'd have known.  Plenty of other nice jump places much closer to her house.

The funny thing is, if she fully cooperated from the moment she was sprung, she'd probs only get 5 years or less.

A clearer picture has emerged of how Melissa Caddick used the millions she stole from investors — and it is not good news for her victims.

The Saturday Telegraph has been told by informed sources that investigators have accounted for most, if not all, of the millions the businesswoman stole from investors, many of whom were family and friends.

After an exhaustive search through thousands of pages of financial documents, investigators have followed the money trail and been able to trace the movements — and end points — of all or most of the missing funds.

The conclusion is set to be that the 49-year-old spent most or all of it on supporting her lavish lifestyle.

“They can see what she has done with the money and it is all but accounted for,” one of the sources said. “It’s been spent on lifestyle.”

More remains believed to be human flesh have washed up on another south coast beach — the third in the past few days after the discovery of a sneaker containing bones belonging to Dover Heights fraudster Melissa Caddick.

The latest remains were found yesterday morning at Warrain Beach, near Cullburra on the south coast, about 235kms north of where Caddick’s bones were found.

It follows the discover of a possible human torso on Friday night at a beach at Mollymook and possible human organs on Saturday at Cunjarong Point.

Bones found at Tura Beach yesterday near where Caddick’s remains were found have turned out to belong to an animal.

“It’s been spent on lifestyle.”

what an awful women  not a skerrick of empathy in her whole being...not even a  kiss for the son she was leaving behind to face the world.. so bloody cruel..

The second set of remains aren't hers. Probably a snorkeller who went missing.

I drove past her house today, it's looking pretty unkempt from the outside.

Scamming is the only way to get rich in Australia.
Why mug a person for $50 in the wallet in an alleyway?
When you can scam $20,000 from their account.
The Mining Companies do it, as does the Banks.

Sink or Swim.

Be poor and good or rich from scamming??

Title: Missing fraudster Melissa Caddick

Bizarre twist in case of Sydney fraudster Melissa Caddick as she is charged with 38 new crimes despite police believing she is dead - and cops fear the mystery may NEVER be solved

Missing fraudster Melissa Caddick has been hit with dozens of new charges relating to eight years of fraud - despite police believing she is dead and admitting her disappearance may never be solved.

Caddick was charged with 19 counts of falsely claiming to have a financial services licence, one of failing to produce a licence and 18 counts of dishonest conduct in relation to financial products in a Sydney local court.

As well as the 38 new charges filed by Australia's corporate regulator, the new documents filed revealed the extent of her crimes while running the unlicensed Maliver Pty Ltd.

The frauds are said to have taken place over seven years and 11 months against a total of 29 individuals and companies.

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission brought the new charges, according to documents seen by The Australian, although it is also taking separate action in the Federal Court.

Caddick received at least $13million from unsuspecting clients and investors, and blown her fortune on luxury items and lavish overseas trips.

Her $8million Dover Heights home was raided by ASIC on November 11, confiscating high end fashion label handbags, shoes and clothes. She disappeared after the raid.

There was no sign of her until a foot was found by campers in a trainer washed up on Bournda Beach on the New South Wales South Coast three months later.

There was a DNA match between the limb and material from Caddick's toothbrush.

Thats possible but would not have altered the rate of decomposition.  2 hypotheses
1. She deliberately cut her foot off some time after her disappearance  and is in hiding.
2. She committed suicide some time after her disappearance. (that seems to be the most probable).
Of course freezing the foot would have stopped the decomposition process too but that doesnt enable any plausible hypothesis.

Why not make it - 'another missing mother'?  Does she have children?

More emotive to use 'mother' ....... greater traction in the unenlightened mind.... the opportunity for assumptions expands geometrically...

Ms Caddick’s husband Anthony Kolletti led the small group of mourners out of the West Chapel at the Eastern Suburbs Cemetery in Matraville on Tuesday morning.

There is still no death certificate for the 49-year-old but The Daily Telegraph can reveal that the only part of Ms Caddick’s body that has so far been found — her foot — has now been cremated.

thought about it a bit, couple of reasons Im saying this. For one thing, just a foot? Nothing else but a perfectly preserved foot which hadnt been in the water that long. So shes eaten by sharks and just the foot survives. Too convenient. The other thing is that we are automatically presuming that theres no way someone would have their own foot cut off in order to pretend death. But lets look at her personality, the ultimate con woman, she didnt just con her aquaintances, she conned her family and friends without any guilt about it. This shows lack of empathy and  narcissism, Im hesitant to use this label because there are a few idiots on this forum using this term foolishly but she has all the attributes of a psychopath. And she knew her life was effectively over with the prospect of a very long prison sentence.

Feet washing up on beaches is a thing.
The shoe protects the foot and provides buoyancy.

I'm suspicious because it washed up in a place she went camping on a school excursion. Investigators hate coincidences.

I reckon she killed herself tho. If she only ripped off strangers I'd give the cut off her own foot theory higher probably but she ripped off family and friends. Losing face would be a big deal ro her.

yeah , that is suspicious. Criminals often get caught by conducting their activities in places they know and are comfortable with.

I reckon she killed herself tho. If she only ripped off strangers I'd give the cut off her own foot theory higher probably but she ripped off family and friends. Losing face would be a big deal ro her.
It was a Ponzi scheme so she must have known it was going to crash sooner later. I dont have any insight into her personality other than we can presume she was/is extremely narcissistic and lacking in empathy, im in 2 minds as to whether she would succumb to emotional distress over losing face. Some of these types of people are bullet proof to emotion. The husband interests me, something not quite right, cant put my finger on it.
Still, if she did kill herself, she waited quite a while to do it, so where was she?

Feet washing up on beaches is a thing.
The shoe protects the foot and provides buoyancy.
I didnt know that, still just too convenient. And the condition of the foot  doesnt fit the timeline of her dissapearance

She killed herself the day she went missing. A sneaker can protect a foot for ages and float a long way.

I reckon she loved the money so much, she just couldn't face life without it.

Police forensics declared that the timeline didnt fit as far as I am aware, they are supposed to know their stuff. I have a mate who used to work in forensics, I will ask him about it next time I see him.

found the article i was looking for, its about barnacles apparently

Quote:
An international aquatic forensics expert says a key detail in Melissa Caddick’s washed-up shoe suggests she was alive well after she disappeared.

The pristine-looking Asics running shoe containing the foot of the missing 49-year-old was found by surfers at Bournda Beach on the NSW south coast on February 21 – three months after the alleged conwoman vanished in November and 400km south of where she was last seen at her home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Murdoch University expert Dr Paola Magni told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday that the shoe would have had barnacles and marine growth on it within two weeks of being in the water.

the expert SUGGESTS rhino.. in other words   no one will ever know how long it was in the water......if he had the answer he would just say so.....what puzzles me the most is how she left that house without one camera catching her the place would be loaded with cameras  and nothing about it looks planned to me...maybe she had a bunch of pills handy who knows! to think shes alive is too much of a stretch
