I was driving back from the Nth side about 1230 heading to Botany while the climate strike rally was going on, and there was a traffic jam northbound from Macquarie St all the way to Wentworth Ave Botany where I turned off.
I wonder how many CM of sea level rise that extra pollution will cause? |

I don't think I can express my views in a forum as to how self-defeating your post sounds, Gordon.

The united nations IPCC couldn’t get adults to believe in Anthropogenic global warming, we asked too many questions like
Why isn’t it heating up as predicted? Where is the hot spot? The missing heat did it go into the ocean? So now they are brain washing a generation of children telling them their future is bleak unless we get rid of fossil fuels. Some of the kids they interviewed on tv think they have no future. This organisation is a cancer on this Earth. |

I think the cause is admirable. Whether futile or not we will see. The birds and the bees are dying out. As are insects and frogs, this has been a trend observed since the 1970s.

Exactly .... the leftard educators have a lot to answer for ...... we have generations that can't do the basics with the 3 R's but like brainwashed minions they can protest in the streets that they have no future because of AGW/Climate Change. They want to protest .... protest Morrison & the LNP over their anti-jobs, anti apprenticeship, anti worker ideals and the cutting of funds to education & health and selling off/privatising to foreign nationals. |

They aren't dying out from AGW/climate Change ...... more likely the overuse/misuse of pesticides & herbicides. And though some key pollinating species of insects are affected by that .......... there are many many more insect species and numbers(multi billions) on this planet than there ever will be human beings. |

I wonder if these children were told what they would be without if we got rid of fossil fuels if they would still feel the same way.
Ipad, Iphone, transport, heating cooling etc etc. Bet they don't tell them these things. |

so you live without the cholesterol tablets, arthritis medication, pain kllers and heart tablets just because generations before you did? or does your logic only apply to today's kids? By the way, i notice you tend to be on your pc all day every day without ever complaining about it ... but if kids do it it's a bad thing, right? :D :D :D |

Youth did more than that to their parents in Germany(WW2) ..... and Chinese Youth under MAO and the youth in Cambodia under Pol Pot. But that could be an outcome from snowflake millennials. |

Between the age of 1 and 18, I had not much to keep me entertained. We had an old black and white television that I watched Sesame Street until age 2. Then we swapped over to a colour television.... where I watched shows like Sesame Street until age 10. Books became a thing when I learned to read. A computer was something to play asteroids. Dinner consisted of sausages and vegetables most nights of the week. Sunday night dinner was a roast. We had the occasional pizza or KFC.
I rode my bike to school every school day. Even when it was raining. The joys of unrusting my chain every March. School started in late January. It was hot until about March. Got hot again after the September holiday break. We had to get a drink of water from the water fountain before class and before we went back to class after lunch break. The high school allowed us to bring water into class. Though I did not see this happen at an educational institution until I attended the CQU. We did have computers at school. But, we did not get proper access to the internet until I started university in 1997. And even then, we had to take our patience to a new level for our dial-up internet. Or, we had to share a broadband connection among 200 other users. Television consisted of 2 channels until 1990. Then we had 4 after that. SBS became available in 1992. But, we considered that the foreign softporn channel. I will admit, I was addicted to Atari, and then Nintendo in my preteens and teenage years. However, I think we probably used less electricity then than we do now. Heck, Mum and Dad installed solar panels to complement the hot water solar we already had. They have not had a power bill in the last 10 years. |
