UK Foreign Office warns ships against sailing in Strait of Hormuz

The United Kingdom's Foreign Office says vessels working in the country's shipping industry should avoid the Strait of Hormuz.

The warning comes after the British-flagged Stena Impero was seized in the region by Iranian forces.

Here's the full statement:

    We remain deeply concerned about Iran's unacceptable actions which represent a clear challenge to international freedom of navigation. We have advised UK shipping to stay out of the area for an interim period.
     As the Foreign Secretary has said, our response will be considered and robust and there will be serious consequences if the situation is not resolved.
    We remain in close contact with our international partners and there will be further meetings over the weekend.

It was a British 'FLAGGED' tanker NOT a BRITISH tanker..............ie it wasn't British OWNED and there was NO British crew.......get it Blobby?

On the ship that downed a military drone, one small mistake could cause a war with Iran.

This week's routine mission put the USS Boxer and its two accompanying vessels, the USS John P. Murtha and the USS Harpers Ferry, temporarily at the center of a potential storm as the US flexed the resources of the US Fifth Fleet at the US Naval Forces Central Command in Bahrain. If tensions boiled over, this fleet would be at the epicenter of a war that could, indeed would, spread through the entire Middle East.

Oh, I agree it could be the USN.  Just remember what happened to Iran Air Flight 655.

However it could just as likely be Iran or Israel or Saudi Arabia or...

All of them have an oar in the water.  All can be aggressive if the situation is right.

One drone is not generally sufficient to provoke a war.   Two drones?  Three?  A commercial jet?  Who knows.   ::)
