Title: The term ‘climate denier” is disgusting
Post by matty on May 28th, 2019 at 3:24pm
I am disgusted by the far-left using the term “climate denier”. Whether or not you believe in climate change is besides the point here, this is a clear reference to the term “holocaust denier”, to those idiots on the far-right who deny that the Holocaust ever happened, despite the clear verified documentation and evidence that it did.

To make matters even worse, the same people who use this term were also some of the ones who condemned Fraser Anning for using the term “final solution” in his speech about Muslims. What Anning said was indeed appalling and too should have been condemned, but the hypocrisy is staggering.

But continually paying lip service to it and not taking it serious or parroting crack pots on right winged websites is not doing your cause any justice. Bringing a lump of coal into parliament just says everything about how you lot are not serious in dealing with the issues :(

Of course, you deliberately or ignorantly miss the point. I a man not going to get into another debate about why I don’t believe in climate change. Nor am I am going to again get into what Australia could possibly do to combat it even if it were real.

The point and only point here is the left using this disgusting term and their hypocrisy in doing so.

You are wrong of course Matty
You are only linking the two concepts in your own bizarre mind.

The term "denier" refers to people who refuse to believe something even when presented with evidence.
The term can be, and is, used against lots of conspiracy theories.
It is also accurate to use against AGW deniers

Just a little bit of, just a little bit of

I was like, good gracious, ass is bodacious
Flirtacious, tryin' to show patience
I'm waitin' for the right time to shoot my steez (you know)
Waitin' for the right time to flash them keys, then uh
I'm leavin', please believe in, ohh
Me and the rest of my heathens
Check it, got it locked at the top of the Fo' Seasons
Penthouse, roof top, birds I'm feedin'
No deceivin', nuttin' up my sleeve and
No teasin', I need you to
Get up up on the dance floor
Give that man what he askin' for
'Cause I feel like bustin' loose
And I feel like touchin' you, uh uh
And can't nobody stop the juice
So baby tell me what's the use? I said

It's gettin' hot in here (so hot), so take off all your clothes

What a load of politically correct garbage.

The simple FACT is that CLIMATE CHANGE IS A SCAM. And its forbear GLOBAL WARMING is a HOAX.

So anyone who believes in it is a naive gullible ignorant fool. Just like the Greenies.

The Global Warming HOAX was fabricated in the UN Club of Rome years ago and ITS SOLE FUNCTION was to move wealth from developed nations to under developed nations.

The mechanism to steal money from wealthy nations is the Carbon Tax SCAM.

There was panic amongst the UN scammers when after a few years there was NO EVIDENCE whatsoever of any GLOBAL WARMING and so the shysters quickly changed their GLOBAL WARMING HOAX to the CLIMATE CHANGE SCAM.

And after a few more years when there is NO EVIDENCE of any Climate Change the UN shysters will no doubt change the name again to something like the ATMOSPHERE ACTION SHAM.

The Climate farce bit is simply a smokescreen to fool the gullibles of which there are plenty but not so many as before as Labor found out to their detriment when the savvy voters simply dumped Labor and their CLIMATE CHANGE SCAM in the garbage tin.

The lying Greenies have built their whole rubbishy political structure around the CLIMATE CHANGE SCAM and so they are now desperate to try to keep the SCAM going.

Now you all know the TRUTH.

Those chicken littles out there that want to make the claim that the world is boiling because they have experienced a hot day, they just cannot be bothered with consistency. I got into an argument with about 2 or 3 of them over a facebook news post on the topic. The heatwave of last year was enough evidence for them to say that this is clear evidence of global warming. I told them that it was not all that hot in my region. And then I told them that the record hottest day, set in 1990, has not been given much of a nudge in the last 28 years (at that time). These southerners then decided to come back at me saying that "local weather is not an indication of a global phenomenon". I told them that they were, in fact, proving my argument. Especially given the fact that they were speaking during a time when THEY were in a position of locally hot weather.

We are currently in a situation where we have a solar minimum. Average temperatures would have plateaued for a few years. And with 5 billion more people on the planet (minimum) than there were in the 1870s, it should be no surprise that average global temperatures have risen. Of course, with Beijing showing off their CFC output that had been eradicated elsewhere in the world, they are probably singing some song and dance about how I was wrong.

Southern Ocean chill heading for southeastern Australia

Ben Domensino, Tuesday May 28, 2019 - 09:35 EST

A strong cold front will bring rain, hail, thunderstorms, damaging winds and low-level snow to Australia's southeastern states during the next two days.

A large mass of cold air surging out of the Southern Ocean will move over Tasmania on Tuesday and spread across Australia's southeast mainland during Tuesday night and Wednesday.

This burst of cold air will be accompanied by blustery winds, with severe weather warnings for damaging gusts in place for parts of Victoria and NSW as of 9am on Tuesday.

While damaging winds are likely to develop in some low-lying populated areas, the strongest gusts will occur on the peaks of the mainland alps. Areas above 1,900 metres are likely to experience blizzards with gusts in excess of 125km/h. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service advises against travelling in the alpine back country until these winds ease from Wednesday.

Showers and thunderstorms will affect parts of Tasmania, Victoria, SA, NSW and the ACT on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of, with, and behind this strong frontal system.

This rain will be falling as snow on the higher parts of the alps during Tuesday, before reaching lower levels in multiple states on Wednesday as the Antarctic-borne air moves in.

Snow is forecast to reach down to an elevation of 500 metres in Tasmania from Tuesday night into Wednesday. On the mainland, snow could reach 600 metres in Victoria and 700 metres in southern NSW and the ACT on Wednesday. Further north, the NSW Central Tablelands will see their second round of snow in three days on Wednesday, with flakes possible in the Blue Mountains near Sydney.

The mix of cold and windy weather has also prompted sheep graziers warnings, road weather alerts and bush walker's alerts in parts of NSW, Victoria, SA and Tasmania.

Wind and showers will taper off from Thursday as the front moves out into the Tasman Sea.

This latest round of wintry weather is the last in a procession of cold fronts that have crossed southeastern Australia since Friday.

Some ski resorts have already seen 20-40cm of snow during the last three days, with more on the way during the next 72 hours.

Monday was Canberra's coldest May day in 19 years, with the city only reaching a top of nine degrees. The mercury will struggle to reach 10 degrees in the nation's capital on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

"Holocaust denier" seems to include people who say that 6 million Jewish people dying in concentration camps is an exaggeration.

I say that the amount of increase in global temperature is largely in relation to the natural warming of the globe that has happened since the last ice age ended. I can accept that some warming has occurred as a result of human influence. But, 95% of global warming would be due to a natural cycle out of the ice age.

We should be dedicating our resources to protecting bee populations in Australia from the dangers of the varroa mite that has been decimating bee populations in about 50% of the world. So far, with the exception of a scare in Port Melbourne, we have been lucky to be free of that mite. But, we have to be prepared for the possibility our biosecurity gets breached.

How very "far Left" of you worrying about the world ,is the UN in your name mean United Nations.... :D

Melbourne's cold May day

Ben Domensino, Wednesday May 29, 2019 - 16:23 EST

Melbourne endured its coldest May day in 19 years on Wednesday.

The temperature at Melbourne's Olympic Park weather station had only reached a top of 10.6 degrees by 4pm on Wednesday.

If this maximum temperature isn't exceeded by 9am on Thursday, this will have been the city's coldest May day since 2000.

The mid-week chill is being caused by a large pool of cold air from the Southern Ocean passing across Victoria. In addition to this wintry air mass, cloud and showers also limited warming in Melbourne on Wednesday.

The air was even cold enough for snow to fall in Ballarat on Wednesday afternoon.

"Un" as in "unknown". But, I think you already knew that. And I think I am more constructive with dealing with environmental issues than environmentalists have been. They can forget about marching about the streets causing traffic congestion. And they can start by figuring out what needs to be conserved and recycled in our region.

Frosty start in southern Queensland

Ben Domensino, Friday May 31, 2019 - 16:23 EST

Parts of Queensland registered their lowest May temperature in more than 40 years on the final morning of autumn.
Cool air lingering behind a cold front combined with clear skies and light wind on Thursday night, allowing the mercury to plummet.
Stanthorpe's low of -6.1 degrees on Friday morning was their lowest May temperature in records dating back to 1967.
Oakey dropped to -4.4 degrees early on Friday, making it their coldest May morning in records going back to 1973.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland's lowest May temperature on record was -6.8 degrees, which occurred at Stanthorpe in 2006.

I agree, Matty, I despise the term climate denier. It is, after all, a lot of hooey, animal welfare policies notwithstanding.

The "climate is changing because of human activity" argument is as plausible as someone pushing a car that is already being driven at 10kmh. Sure, there is influence from the person pushing. But, the car is already in motion.

That's because record cold temperatures cannot be ignored.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-05-31/cold-morning-in-southern-queensland/11166790

Southern Queensland towns record coldest May morning.

Several May temperature records have been broken with a winter blast hitting southern Queensland overnight.

Applethorpe, Oakey and Dalby have all had their coldest May mornings on record.

The temperature plummeted to -6.1 in Applethorpe, –2.1 degrees below its previous record 13 years ago.

Oakey near Toowoomba dropped to -4.4, which was 0.3 of a degree cooler than its previous record in 2006.

Dalby on the Western Downs had its coldest morning since 1911, recording -3.6.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Gabriel Branescu said it was milder in the state's south-east.

"In Brisbane, while it was 8 degrees this morning, with the chill factor it felt like less than five degrees," he said.

"The feel like temperature at the airport in Brisbane was -1.

The oligarchy with all their wealth have invented this phrase "climate denier", they are preparing a golden goose that will hatch golden eggs for them, they want to get it up and running asap before the next little ice age.

The sceptics all believe in climate change and that the climate is always that is always changing.

What the sceptics don't believe or are sceptical about is ANTHROPOGENIC GLOBAL WARMING and that mans emissions of CO2 are solely responsible for the current warming spell.

Quite simple really don't have to be a scientist to work it.

Or are you one of those who believes words should be infinitely malleable? Are you a Humpty Dumpty?

As I doubt that anyone would disagree you need to wear it well. (Madam Onassis has nothing on you).

The rest of the rubbish you posted is just that.

To pedantically insist that a strict dictionary meaning be used to define the term Climate denier is obviously being less than genuine.

The term used in well known context is used to refer to people who deny the reality of human caused climate change. In this case there is a difference between pedantic dictionary meaning (denying the existence of climate) and common fully understood usage over several decades.

In fact your silly Humpty Dumpty reference is in-genuine at best - the fully understood wide common usage is well understood and not flexible at all.

No what I mean is that you fully understand what people using that term mean. Your insistence on replacing what you know is factually meant by the dictionary meaning is dishonest.

This does not mean that people have to agree with global warming to comprehend what is being said without hopelessly but deliberately misinterpreting what they mean.

This isn't something that you do not understand.

Really - you can either use your brain and accept the common accepted usage or look at a dictionary, they both agree with my view on this.

But really who denies climate changes? Who denies that man has some effect on climate?

You have heard of land use change, deforestation etc. They affect climate. So by definition that is AGW. climate change. AGW presupposes that the change is global. However the evidence points to it being regional. ;)

So tell me why do alarmists like to call warmists, climate deniers? I mean warmists do say that anthropogenic climate change is real. They just say it is not catastrophic.

So where does that sit on the new "climate denier" line? Just how much denial is enough?
