Mine is 16 characters long.

I find the best way is to make it the first letter of each word from a quotation that I like plus a numeral at the end.

I have just looked at my password list.
I have, including the 9 work passwords, over 50 passwords in total.
53 to be exact.

I have tried, unsuccessfully, to make all of my passwords identical, so that I need only have but one for everything.

Sadly, this is impossible
At work alone, each must be different, and I thought passwords were not identified to the individual, but apparently, the system recognises passwords used in other areas and each must be different.

Then there are the various forums, banks, grubberment etc passwords.
Have you ever noted that after a while, you password don't seem to work?

So you have to change them, usually accompanied by identification checks, many questions and great frustration.

I now keep a list, not on my phone or computer, because they may be hacked
I keep them all in a little book.
Yes.....a little writing book, with all my passwords, all written in pencil so they can be changed regularly.

Oh, and just in case someone finds said book.
The passwords are written in code.

What is this world coming to
We have left the electronic age and reverted back to pencil and paper with code to hide how we do anything.

Strange world.

I use a password generator to make insanely complicated and secure combinations then simply copy from the program into the password field, and I always ad two extra characters at the beginning and end just in case somehow my computer is totally hacked.

The real problems are when you have to have 13 characters some upper some lower some punctuation and it's passwords you need frequently.

An IT guy told me something interesting once.

He just had his basic password.

e.g. Elephant1

Then, he would just add the relevant site name at the beginning of each new password.

e.g.

WestpacElephant1

OptusElephant1

OzPolElephant1

etc.

Yeah, that's a really simple way of remembering a password, and the way I have used for years. Except the basic part of my password is more complex than a word.

Australian Super's stupid, and random, 13 character requirement stops me using that code and hence now I have a password that I'll never remember (like I can all the others) so I've written it down. Imbeciles.

I had an argument with a mate of mine, an IT geek, who makes their students at the college he works at, change their passwords every month. I mean, how stupid is that?
