The Trump trade war is affecting Australia.

China may single out Australia as a follower of US policy and inflict more harm by stifling resource purchases.

Given we're talking trade, a lower AUD is generally better for us - our exports are cheaper to buy, and imports more expensive.

One of the banks issued a prediction that A$ could bottom at US$ 0.60.

However, that was before the US-China trade war heated up.

The bottom now could be US $ 0.50 or less.
