ON ABC Sydney Breakfast today, I'll post the link to the interview/transcript when it's available.

It was about global warming, and they mentioned that people are deciding not to have children because of fear of the future impact of global warming, and left it for Goodall to comment.

She said, the wrong people are not having children.
In Africa they've traditionally had a high birth rate due to high infant mortality and so their children can work the land, but now they have no work, etc etc.

I wonder who are the right people to have children ?   ;)

They suffer the false impression that by producing more workers to feed they will subsist better..... that somehow more land will become available.. and their education does not include contraception.

It all has a breaking point - usually called famine or widespread disease = high mortality rate.

Reckon they could grind up the excess population of destitute third world countries and use them as dog food. I am not serious about this. But they could probably solve a few problems in one go. Or maybe feed the destitute to the hungry.

In South Africa, the whites are the ones being driven off the land and the blacks are occupying. They probably hope that food just magically appears.

Almost there, think harder.

Pay people not to have kids rather than aid organisations saving kids.

Comparatively Africa does have an increasing population it is not as over populated as Europe.

And here lies the problem...western countries addicted to growth pay people to have babies, and increase immigration. people from  cultures that traditionally have large famlies.

In the end there will be a global pandemic that will wipe a good percentage of the population out, and scientists/pharmaceutical companies will be busy trying find a cure to profit from.

It really depends on the environment and situation.  Some traits are desirable at times, but no so other times.  For example, the level of obesity is high in developed world.  The availability of excess nutrition causes the body to retain more fat and protein.  Sometimes lead to diabetes.  This ability to retain energy is critical in early human society, where availability of nutrition is low.  Those who can retain better, survives the winters, and passes the gene on, those who cant dies off.  Harsh but hey, its nature.  However, with advancement of technology, we are living longer, and have more nutrition, and therefore, the same ability to retain nutrition suddenly becomes a hindrance.

The same with African ladies.  Those who can reproduce more in harsher environment, then their genes gets passed down.  Those who cant, their lineage dies off.   So in effect, you can say that their gene is superior to those white females, who would lost their ability to reproduce during their anorexia stage as their lineage would have died off long ago in a more harsher environment.

The alphabet gay community are getting into the faces of 98% of the country's face and demanding to not only be tolerated but respected as superior progressive thinkers.

Much of the gay community consider heterosexuals to be "breeders". This implies to heterosexuals that the homosexual community is not concerned about having children and that their homosexuality is just some fad to get attention. But, whatever the opinion, this act of being childless by choice is just adding to the lack of child numbers that we need to increase so that we have a population that can look after the elderly. Our only option is to keep working until we drop dead, for Australia to save on welfare.

Having done a *day* of practical at an aged care facility -- out of the 15 days that I was originally set by my training company -- I saw enough in the 8 hours to scare me. But the residents and the staff were not the problem. The problem was the overwhelming number of residents that needed help constantly. And the lack of staff there to help was really straining stress levels.

Basically, we need an incentive to have people work in aged care.
