Hardly - we were building cars based on the same global platforms with the same engines as the rest of Toyota and GM. Full still command a tiny proportion of the market world-wide, though hopefully growing as more models are released in the next few years |

Jaguar Land Rover is set to cut thousands of jobs as part of a £2.5bn cost-cutting drive as it battles falling sales of diesel cars, weak demand in China and Brexit uncertainty. Up to 5,000 staff could be made redundant in the new year – one in eight of JLR’s workforce – the Financial Times reported. A JLR spokesperson would not confirm details of the reported plans. So poor range rover and Jag are going to loose a quarter of their staff because they invested in diesel...I suppose they will be trying to get that 1 electric car going better. ;) |

That is the point. Centralised power generation may provide opportunities for less pollution. We shall see. But EVs are also better because they are less complicated. |
