Title: The Trinity Grammar Haircut Sacking
Post by Brendon on Mar 10th, 2018 at 4:18pm
The sacking of a Victorian deputy principal who cut a student's hair at an independent boys' school has sparked outage and demands for his reinstatement within the school community.

Rohan Brown, former head of the senior school, was sacked from Trinity Grammar School on March 8 after he a video surfaced of him cutting a teenager's hair to meet requirements on the day of school photos.

"The handling of a disciplinary issue by Mr Brown earlier this term was in contravention of school policy and was also inconsistent with community expectations in this day and age," chairman of the school council Roderick Lyle wrote to parents and the wider school community on March 9.

A lunchtime protest was held at the school on Friday with students reportedly chanting: "Brownie, Brownie, return Brownie".

Students and their families angered by the decision to sack Mr Brown, who had been at the school for about three decades, attended a meeting on Friday night to defend him...

JMO but these parents and students protesting the sacking of the deputy headmaster remind me of those namby pamby liberal class moaning away.

Brown broke the rules and he needed to be punished forthwith.

Without rules there is chaos.

Ah, yes.  Never had it done as much or as badly as those blokes did.   My instructors also refrained from bad language or insulting the recruits on their first few days.   Americans though, are different, aren't they?    ::) ::)

Sacked for trimming hair? I'd have thought a proper headjob would have been a sackable offense.

Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force - they are all Americans over there in America (except for the handful of non-Americans who join to become Americans).   All of their services are like their society - weird.   Medals are sent up with the rations.  I knew an ex-USAF airman who served in Vietnam.  He rolled into Ton Son Nhut and found on his pillow a set of service ribbons, a marksmanship badge for his pistol and a set of Corporal's stripes, all nicely laid out.  He said he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a handful of gravel from inside with his .45.   He had a marksmanship badge though.  He never attended any promotion courses either.  Yet he was suddenly a Corporal.   Tsk, tsk.  ::)

I served with a senior WO who had been in Vietnam as "local purchase" for the Task Force there.  He won a Jeep from an American GI in a card game.  Got it back to Nui Dat and his CO said, "I don't want to see that vehicle without a set of 'roos on it!"  It had a set of 'roos on it by sundown.  He drove it and so did his successor in Phuc Tuy.   ;)

Now that one I believe.... had a mate who did the reconstruction in Cambodia, and was in-country on pay plus sustenance - got a sleeping spot in a local home, the girl worked in a bank, and he was giving her half his sustenance money for her to invest, and they split the rewards.  He was investigated for being in the black market..... never touched his pay.  Not sure if his wife knows everything..... or cares.....

What is needed is full-time barbers at Trinity, around the clock haircuts, even during lessons. The barber just sidles up during a lecture and starts snipping away.

If it had been a Somali with an Afro-style that the teacher trimmed, this would have sparked another Blacks on the Rampage episode for the police to view from the safety of their cars.

We need more discipline in this country. That's for sure.

Teacher who think they are barbers. Parents who think they are the ones to hire and fire.

Get some discipline into them!!!

The contrary view indicates the Headmaster and School Council are taking the school in a direction unpopular to many.

I didnt see the broken leg question sorry.

You know thats different. Cutting a kids hair is not the same as a broken leg. I dont see why he would have to touch the kid with a broken leg anyway though since the right thing to do is call an ambulance.

How would you feel if a teacher or principle assaulted your kid by cutting their hair?

Shouldnt it be the parents responsibility?

Correct.

And as I have pointed out to you , touching whilst administering first aid is completely different to touching whilst giving someone a hair cut.

First Aid: "emergency aid or treatment given to someone injured, suddenly ill, etc., before regular medical services arrive or can be reached."

I would hardly call a haircut an emergency.

Would you?

pathetic.

Because he touched a child without permission

how do you know?   the boy may have asked him too..

if the boy had a broken leg   would the teacher be in trouble for touching him do you think???

He certainly didnt have the parents permission or it wouldnt have been a story

Spot

how old are the boys that go to Trinity?......you didnt answer the broken leg question?..

would the same teacher have lost his job had he turned around and said I cant help this boy with the broken because it will mean touching him???

its a simple question

First Aid is a little different to a a haircut, cods.

this according to spot is about touching...I didnt say it..

Would you?

and the word touching n the case of an emergency is where?..

when I get my hair cut she only touches the hair....

You're the one who brought up first aid, dear.

"if the boy had a broken leg   would the teacher be in trouble for touching him do you think???"

Would you approve of Brown operating on a boy who had appendicitis?

What bollocks.

I think the key issue is that the school is going on a more academic orientated direction that most students and the parents of the school, including alumni disagreed.  And this teach represents the last of the 'old guards' who also disagree with the changes.  So, the principal, and the board, took this hair cut opportunity (which was a formal complaint but settled), and sacked the vice principal.   A punishment is probably way too heavy for the offenses occurred.  This galvanised the students and the parents to revolt, as this would feel like a slap on their faces by the school administration.

I think that this is a massive pushback against Socialist Leftwits sneaking into schools and turning our children into a bunch of massive Softcorks...

we need Conservative schools to Produce the real men and women who will take control of society and protect its wellbeing ... unlike Socialist (safe space) halfwits who want o flood the country with dirty terrorist muslisms etc.. and put us in Massive debt with stupid programs/policies and foreign aid...

they should bring back the Strap as well...

so if people are trying to pussyfy Trinity then they are the ones who should be shown the door...

Council members resign over sacking principal who gave student haircut
8:52am Mar 15, 2018

An elite-private school's chairman is among three members to quit over the firing of a much-loved deputy principal sacked after giving a student a haircut.

Rohan Brown's position was immediately terminated at Trinity Grammar, located in the Melbourne suburb of Kew, after video emerged of him giving the student a haircut earlier this week.

Chairman Rod Lyle, deputy chair David Waldren and John Grover all resigned after a special meeting to discuss the ongoing drama, The Herald Sun reports.

Chairman Rod Lyle (L), deputy chair David Waldren (M) and John Grover (R) all resigned after a special meeting to discuss the ongoing drama.

Former chairman and current council member Robert Utter will now take on the lead role, despite the 1500 school community members passing a no-confidence vote again the entire council on Tuesday.

The school has endorsed its current principal Dr Michael Davies, although only 28 people at the meeting voted in his favour.

"I am excited to be working with Robert Utter, a highly respected and regarded member of our community. I also thank the council for their ongoing support," Dr Davies said in a statement.

"I want to assure the Trinity community that I am resolute in my focus to lead this school."

The student who got his haircut missed several days of school after being bullied. (shift him out to a "soft" safe space school)

Mr Brown is now being investigated by the Victorian Institute of Teaching for cutting the students hair.

Parents and former students have threatened legal action if the headmaster and council don’t quit by Friday.

On Tuesday, hundreds of students protested against Mr Rohan’s dismissal, refusing to let their much-loved teacher hailed as the “Dumbledore” go quietly.

Trinity Grammar said the handling of the situation was "inconsistent with community expectations."  ::)

The 2018 student school leaders urged all students to wear casual clothes with brown tape around their wrist today to show their support for Mr Brown.

Earlier this week, a another protest unfolded at lunchtime when students shouted "Brownie, Brownie, return Brownie." An online petition for him to return has received well over 1000 signatures.

Mr Brown has said he still bleeds the school's colours - green and gold - and hopes to one day return to teaching.

Then the DICTATOR made that fatal 'one' mistake.
He cut the boy's hair for school photo's.
The mere 'domination' of this principle to go so far as to feel 'bothered' by the vain look of one of 'his' students that was in no way unruly, like you find in a Public School - where students discipline the Teachers.
No. But he had to ...touch.
He had to enforce 'his will', his 'style'.

Today, the majority of parents and teachers stand cheering as they rope the Statue of the once great Father figure Principle of 35 years and bring it down to smash upon the ground.
An end of an Era and the Dawn of a New Age!
Freedom from oppression.

...the former Principle sits in a dark room, somewhere near the back of beyond. There he sits, a pair of scissors in his hands. Slight drool, running from the corner of his mouth as it mutters and eyes that just stare out beyond the walls he has put himself within.
"How dare he!?" was all that he mutters. >:(

The Student in Question goes on to become a Plumber that earns x3 times as much as the Principle ever would. Oh, and his boss lets him have long hair.
Never did like that Bronski Beat 'Prison-gimp' style.

This is about a bunch of angry students protesting, getting their way and getting people in authority removed.

How much longer do we need to see these teenage students running things?! >:(

Lock them up, I say! The cat 'o nine tails will fix them up!

This is what short hair does to society. No respect for authoritah!!!

Students, and pesky parents, need to respect those in charge.

I would like to have seen the mounted police charging at those wild students shouting "Brownie!" That would teach them some respect for the law.
