Title: Abbott - 6months after election, carbon tax dead
Post by progressiveslol on Apr 23rd, 2012 at 10:51am
TONY Abbott has pledged to get rid of carbon pricing within just six months of the Coalition winning government.

The Opposition Leader said that if blocked in the Senate he would immediately call another election, a double dissolution, and invite the ALP to commit “suicide twice''.

“I won't reduce the tax, change the tax, or redesign the tax. I will repeal the tax,'' Mr Abbott said in Brisbane today.

So thats a lie, that can be proven,RIGHT NOW.
IF phony Tony won the next election, he will face a hostile senate that will not buckle to his confusionalist world is flat theories on global warming. ANY senators elected at the next election will not enter the senate, for guess what?? 6 months.
That means phony tony could not get rid of the tax within 6 months, and if he called a DD, any senators elected at the next election would not EVER take their place in the senate.  god you rightards are gullible suckers. ;D ;D ;D

----------
“I won't reduce the tax, change the tax, or redesign the tax. I will repeal the tax,'' Mr Abbott said in Brisbane today.

“After all, what is done by legislation can be undone by legislation.

“I don't expect the Greens to support repealing the carbon tax. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine the Labor Party, beaten in an election that's a referendum on the carbon tax, committing suicide twice by resisting the new government’s mandate.

“If they do, there is a constitutional procedure designed for just this eventuality. It's called a double dissolution. I would not hesitate to seek a second mandate to repeal this toxic tax. Indeed, it would be my duty to do so.''

Mr Abbott said that “because the electorate would double-punish the Labor Party for wilful obstruction, I expect that the repeal arrangements would be in place within six months.”

Abort will just change a few things about the tax and then call it something else and pretend like he has got rid of it so he doesn't have to give the revenue to the green industries !! It's the oldest con trick in the book !

Have you ever known any government to get rid of a tax cash cow brought in by a previous government ??

the poor diddums... the laborites cant quite cope with the clearl knowledge that the carbon tax is dead. it WILL be repealed either the easy way (labor votes for the repeal) or the hard way (via a DD). the only certainly is that it is going to be junked. end of story.

the trouble for me is... the bloody thing was all based on a lie..a double lie.. first she said she wouldnt do it... then now it doesnt seem to have anything to do with GW...

which when they keep harping back to the ETS and Kyoto...EVERYTHING was about GW then..

its a con like we have always said it was...

however no one seem to be standing up and calling it that..I would be quite happy to pay a little more on my power bills if I thought it would make one iota of difference ... as it is I know it wont..

had an email over the weekend showing a house that belongs to an Arab who else??.. it was more like a resort it is so big and you should have seen the lighting..

I shook my head and thought why would you  bother????

It is just legislation, cods. The 500 or so companies that will be charged the CT will no longer have to pay it. It is that simple. The other parts of the CT like the R/E finance authority will probably be disbanded as well since it was funded by the CT. the income tax scales will have to be altered but there wasnt that much in income tax compensation anyhow. It will still end up costing australia a lot of money, but it is still better to cop the cost of removing this monstrosity than keeping it.

The interesting thing will be seeing if the ALP has the balls to support the repeal after Abbott gets a sizable mandate. If not they will simply get hammered at a DD.

How is it you believe one party is a puppet to vested interests yet the other is clean?

Would the logical conclusion be if 1 can be bought so can the other, & therefore Tony's position is just bought by the vested interests of the other side of the socialist/progressive failed environmentalist pseudo science followers. :-?

WOW, just wow, the tax free threshold is 6000 bucks and is being lifted to 18200 dollars, yet longwhine says "there wasn't that much in income tax compensation" only a partisan imbecile would write such crap. The move to lift the threshold to 18200 dollars could well create thousands of jobs alone, only a bloody moron would not understand that.

And yet skippy - the Labor Party remain about as popular as a dose of herpes - specifically as a result of the introduction of this policy.

The carbon tax (though not the only reason) will be the reason the Labor party is handed their arse in the Federal election.

I happen to think that after people see the sky does not fall in and they are better off in paying MUCH less tax that the campaign Abbott has run will be exposed as the scam it is. I cant wait to see the person on the streets response when Labor run adds saying Abbott will gouge thousands of dollars back off families if he is elected. That will be so easy to sell considering it is true. Abbott will be the first leader that has gone to an election with the pledge to TAKE MONEY OFF FAMILIES, yea, I can see the punters flocking to that.

Personally I would prefer no carbon tax at all.
Why?

Without a carbon tax -

1) There is no need to hand out compensation for people to pay it
2) There is no need to adjust the tax brackets
3) There is no additional excuse for people to face greater bills.

I'm sorry but you take away the tax, you take away the need to go through this merry-go-round of making sure people are ok.

And most of all, we all know that the greens want a $100 a tonne CO2 charge and labor just want to get it in so use a nicer more palatable $23. There is only one way for that $23 to go and that is up up up.

Getting Soft?

I think we should have the carbon tax & have NO compensation.
Stuff them the more poor that starve & freeze to death the less issue we will have with unsustainable population growth.
P.s We should airdrop all African water supplies with sterilization drugs, solve that sh!thole as well.

I happen to think lifting the income threshold is good, it will particularly help low income earners, some will no longer have to pay tax at all. As I said, I cant wait to see Abbott explain to the punters why he is going to tax them  more. I can see it now, joe blogs walks into the voting booth,"daa who do I vote for, the person that just gave me a 12 and a half thousand dollar tax break, or phony Tony that is going to take that 12 and a half thousand dollar tax break off me?"
I can see a landslide for sure, Labors way, if they point out these facts to the punters.

There's no conclusive evidence to support that.

I don't support Tony Abbott, however, I certainly don't support fear mongering.

The tax doesn't bother me at all: if it promotes alternative energy sources, that's great.

However, let's no kid ourselves that it will save the planet.  Humans have no control over climate change.  The climate will continue to do whatever it wants to do, with or without human intervention (like it has in the past).

der. He will explain it that he will tax them more because he will tax them less. lol only in labor policy, does the next government have to come up with a truthful statement like that.

How much are these poor going to be better off under labor and the carbon tax again. The number was that small I have purposely forgotten.

I'm sorry but you take away the tax, you take away the need to go through this merry-go-round of making sure people are ok.

I happen to think lifting the income threshold is good, it will particularly help low income earners, some will no longer have to pay tax at all. der. He will explain it that he will tax them more because he will tax them less. lol only in labor policy, does the next government have to come up with a truthful statement like that.

How much are these poor going to be better off under labor and the carbon tax again. The number was that small I have purposely forgotten.

Not counting the cash handouts, the punters, including YOU, will not have to pay tax on an extra 12 and a half thousand bucks that you do now. As I said, I cant wait to see phony tony sell it to the punters that he is going to take that off them, priceless.

This means up to one million people will no longer need to fill in a tax return. When combined with the low income tax offset (LITO), people will not pay net tax until their income exceeds $20,542.

So in fact people will not pay tax on the first 395 bucks a week. you only start paying tax AFTER that, so a low income earner on 600 bucks a week will only pay tax on 205 bucks a week,at a rate of 15% ,or 30 bucks a week, yea the poor will really want to give that up for phony tony,LOL.

How many more will have to be employed  "unproductively" to charge this tax and then distribute compensation to the low income people?

Such employees would draw on the tax paid by the "real earners" for this country, the exporters of goods.

Have any of you leftards costed this as well as these Green schemes that have to be subsidised heavily by the tax payers?

No wonder the country is sinking in billion dollars of debt.

WOW, just wow, the tax free threshold is 6000 bucks and is being lifted to 18200 dollars, yet longwhine says "there wasn't that much in income tax compensation" only a partisan imbecile would write such crap. The move to lift the threshold to 18200 dollars could well create thousands of jobs alone, only a bloody moron would not understand that.

the threshold is effectively 16100 with the Low Income Tax Offest whioch is being removed. But since the marginal tax rates are being increased, this advantage will be mostly lost. the reduction in tax is small to nothing for almost everyone.

the compo may be correct but the cost of the CT is anyones guess and thats all it is - a guess. At the VERY BEST the CT will be revenue neutral which means it will be totally ineffective and yet there is pretty much no chance of that happening.

My complaint about the CT is two fold. One, it is the product of an unquivocal lie and two, it has zero chance of acheiving its goals. Unless of course its only goal was to keep Gillard in power in which case I guess it worked!

Now, now Skippy, don't go worryin' yo pretty little head

Why when I get through with Julia, she might even end up dead

Ain't gunna be no prisoners taken

When I get her in the ring

I'll punch that Carbon Tax back in her

In a place that makes her sting

So forget yo worked up senses

And enjoy me do my thing

When I take out Julia Gillard

And make the her head go bing!

It is lucky you and longwhine dogged it, though we have seen longwhine dog it twice in the last two days, here is the link to the GOVERNMENT WEBSITE where I got those facts from, you two look like the lying losers you are.

HERE IS THE QUOTE AGAIN.

Quote:
The tax cuts will be delivered through major structural reform that increases the tax free threshold from $6,000 to $18,200. This means up to one million people will no longer need to fill in a tax return. When combined with the low income tax offset (LITO), people will not pay net tax until their income exceeds $20,542.

EVERYBODY note that last sentence,FROM THE GOVERNMENT website, it proves longwhine is a liar, even though we already knew he was.http://www.cleanenergyfuture.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/09-FS-Household-Assistance-Tax-Reform-110708-1234hrs.pdf

I see no reason to believe that Mr Abbnott can keep a promise to call a DD election in a specified time frame which seems to be in contravention of the constitutional requirements of a DD election.

He can call a lower house election but that does not solve his problem in any way.

Should we assume that Mr Abbnott is a nong who has no idea what he is talking about or that he believes the community is full of nongs who will not understand that he is not being honest?

explain why he cant do it? after all, a DD requires the same bill rejected twice a minimum of 3 months apart. Its not like there havent been DDs before. I think you are confusing Abbott with that gutles twerp Rudd who had TWO DD triggers but was too cowardly to use them.

The senate he would be dismissing would not be the same senate which rejected the legislation. THE GG would be likely to not agree to the DD in this situation.

The GG has other disgressions as well like the merit of the legislation requiring a new election.

lol I am not here BTW, so pretend it is someone else telling you this.

As far as I am concerned, when I said you may be right, that meant, you may be right. lol only a skip could be stupid enough to think/believe he needed more. Oh my what an ego.

At least you have the guts to say that, unlike longwhine who is still in hiding. But I notice you're not big enough to admit you're wrong, I shouldn't be surprised though.

You remember that in 3 of his terms without senate control Howard had over a dozen triggers and was too gutless to risk it.

care to name them?? I dont recall ANY.

The senate he would be dismissing would not be the same senate which rejected the legislation. THE GG would be likely to not agree to the DD in this situation.

The GG has other disgressions as well like the merit of the legislation requiring a new election.

why do you think that would possibly be true. That can only occur if the senate changed in between the 3month rejections. It's really not hard to do that you know. What is it with you and DDs?? you claim abbott cant possibly get one - despite evidence to the contrary - and then claim howard had DOZENS, without any eveidence. get over it. the carbon tax WILL be repealed. it may take 6 months, it make tkae 9 months or it may take 3 weeks if the ALP follow the principle of a mandate.

You're the dog, its plain for all to see you dogged it after you claimed Abbott would be PM in May,and you dogged it after I proved your lies yesterday about the low income earners rebate being dumped. Now if you can produce where I asked for a bet about the next election I'll double that 200 bucks, dog boy.

You think Romney will win? I dont think so. Im pretty sure Obama will. After all the economy might be crap, but it was heading off a cliff 4 years ago so they are still better off than then.
