Title: Where do the Greens stand on Whaling?
Post by mellie on Sep 1st, 2010 at 10:44pm
We all know Rudd landed himself in quite a bit of hot water with respects to him complaining about Japan whaling in our waters, though since his rather rapid departure, not much has been said on the whaling front.

So, is it ok to hunt and murder these large intelligent aquatic mammals in our waters or not?

Because we haven't heard too much coming from the Greens in recent months... I take it Greens aren't strapping themselves to trees and or obstructing whaling vessels anymore?

Or have they taken up a new more lucrative cause, saving the endangered "illegal immigratus Australias oceanucus".....a most fascinating species this IIAO, they beach themselves like whales, destroy their own papers/passports, this and take homage in our shelters, with the assistance of our own corrupt marine officials.

And will this stance still apply?

Greens leader Bob Brown has called on the Rudd government to take action on Japanese whaling before the November election.

The International Whaling Commission (IWC) will discuss a proposal to legalise commercial whaling and halve Japan's whaling quota at the annual meeting to be held in Morocco in June.

Senator Brown supports New Zealand and Australia's position upholding the ban of commercial whaling and says the Federal Government should proceed with legal action against Japan.

No, I figured as much, which is why Australia now needs a new environmental party, one which isn't in bed with either of our two leading party's.

No wonder Dr Bob Brown-tongue's retiring, I would too after this!!!

In fact, I would go so far as to purchase a new identity....what a disgrace.

Perhaps  Geppeddo just wants to retire with his real-live adopted boy-child in peace?

8-)
