I don't really care about the event too much. I tend to watch the first 30 laps and then the last 20 laps of the race.

Going to have to wait for someone to upload the replay, unless 7plus has the replay already.

I watched that last night. I thought DePasquale must have cursed Mostert for having crashed. But, would DePasquale have gotten to the end of the race without the safety car. From what I understand of fuel efficiency, the safety car would have helped DePasquale conserve fuel. DePasquale might well have crossed the finish line on the last lap and not gotten much further. I bet he would have given his left nut to have an extra litre of fuel in the tank.

Was it fuel from Russian oil that enable cars to run in circles on mt panaroma?

The support categories probably run on fuel sourced from Russian oil

The V8s run on E85 blend which is 85% ethanol with 15% sustainable biofuel.

They burn around 4.5-5L per lap so an extra 1L wouldn't have done much.

They guzzle E85 it doesn't have the same energy content as petrol in Mj/Kg so they squirt in another 40% to match it.

Anton was saving fuel for last 10 laps obviously not enough without safety car he would have run out before last lap.

Chaz won a few years ago when Whincup ran out of fuel last lap coming onto Conrod straight

I don't know if it is 4.5L per lap. Maybe if you are pushing the car to its limits, you could do that. I heard the commentator a few years ago say that they burn 3 to 3.5L per lap. Either that, or I might have heard that they can refuel the supercar at 3L per second in the pits.

I remember that Mostert vs Whincup final lap. I have watched that a few times on youtube. Whincup almost was unable to finish, even in the final stretch of road. I bet Whincup would have traded his left nut for a litre of fuel.

Edit: I did remember wrong. The commentator said that it was 4.5L per lap.
