Frank was a 40-year old white male who had spent the last 20 years of his life surrounded by fifty-foot stone walls because he had raped three women.

When you say "was" does that mean his no longer with us or now indentfys as something other than a white male named " frank"?

I think that needs  clarifying before this thread tanks.
