Parents listen to government advice. Governments also influence how vaccines are made available. Look at the US, where Trump is saying that the Measles, Mumps & Rubella vaccine shouldn’t be given as a three-in-one vaccination because it’s “lethal”. That’s despite there not being a single death in 37 years that this vaccine has been in use in Australia. Governments have a responsibility to provide advice and guidance and guidelines, but perhaps more importantly they also have a responsibility to provide factual, accurate advice grounded in science and fact as opposed to loony conspiracy theories that have no basis in truth whatsoever.

Government is a political and bureaucratic institution, not a scientific or medical or particularly smart and intelligent one. If you follow every government guideline on everything then you must get your head read. If you follow every government guidance you are an idiot.
