Title: Trump suffers massive court loss over pet project

Trump rages at judges after they order halt to his ballroom project

Donald Trump has lashed out at the judges who blocked the construction of his White House ballroom.

The federal appeals court ordered that construction of the ballroom be halted, saying the president does not have the unilateral authority to demolish and rebuild any of the White House.

Instead he must seek the approval of Congress to do major work on the building.

Responding on Truth Social, Trump said he will immediately appeal to the Supreme Court.

His post focused on the security facilities that will also feature in the major renovation.

“The Military and Secret Service are viewing this horrendous, politically motivated, and unlawful ruling as a National Security threat to our Nation in that the entire Complex is being built for the protection of our Country and, additionally, all future Presidents,” the president said.

“The Circuit Court also refused to acknowledge that the desperately needed, and totally secure Ballroom, which is being built ahead of schedule and under budget, is a Gift from President Trump and Great Patriots of the United States of America.”

He complained the court should have stopped the construction earlier.

“Why didn’t they bring this case long prior to construction starting?” Trump said.

“There will be no expense to the American Taxpayer.

“This unjust decision must be overturned by the Supreme Court in its entirety.”

The East Wing of the White House was knocked down without any announcement ahead of time.

The US Court of Appeals sided with a group of historic preservationists who sued to stop the demolition.

“The White House is the People’s House, and under the Constitution’s Property Clause, Congress exercises plenary control over the building and its surrounding land,” the ruling read.

“Each President is a temporary tenant, not the owner, of the White House and its Executive Residence.

“The President has no—and claims no—constitutionally assigned authority over that property, which is designed and maintained for the use of all Presidents, current and future, and for the American people.”

Trump’s argument that the White House renovations would be funded by himself and the donations of others did not impress the judges.

“We are aware of no instance in American history in which a President unilaterally and using privately collected funds demolished substantial portions of the White House that Congress authorised to be built and American taxpayers paid for,” the ruling said.

“Until now.”

They stayed the decision for two weeks so the White House could appeal to the Supreme Court.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation, who sued to stop the renovations, celebrated the court’s decision in a statement.

“This is a great day for our country and for the American people’s right to voice their opinions about the historic places they cherish, including the White House,” CEO Brent Leggs said.

“The White House, a global landmark that symbolises American identity and the ideals of democracy, belongs to the American people.

“The National Trust for Historic Preservation and its partners are proud to defend this irreplaceable monument on behalf of all Americans.”

Congress will be loath to vote on approving the construction of a ballroom for the White House.

The project is deeply unpopular with American voters, and Republicans hold a majority of just a few seats.

I hope that if he goes to the Supreme Court and loses, he is forced to rebuild the East Wing - as it was before he illegally demolished it. I can't wait for the next Democrat President in 2028 to remove all of the gaudy gold "decorations" in the Oval Office and throughout the White House. Trump has single-handedly turned the White House into a B-grade 1970's porn movie set.

I rather liked the old Rose garden that Trump and Marilinga destroyed as well.

Here is the current traditional grass area of the rose garden.

This was Trumps coronavirus rose Garden address (The same area in 2020) - this is the one that triggered a corona virus cluster where about a dozen high profile attendees were infected including Trump himself. Maybe that is why he destroyed the traditional rose garden area.

I wonder how long it will take for Trump to get tired of losing?

And, I must say I'm a little disappointed because when I arrived at the main forum page and saw this I thought it was going to say "Trump suffers massive heart attack".

Oh well, can't be too far away now, I'm sure.

Excellent strategy by the big fella.

It keeps the unthinking masses of morons (armchair, DNA, carl) occupied with something donny doesn't care about, whilst he gets on with making cash on the projects he really does care about.

The lefties fall for it everytime

As donny would say

Very low IQ people  :D :D

No, it was for him. He couldn't care less what she wants. He's never been faithful to any of his wives.

Some of those unbelievably tacky decorations were stuck on with super glue by the convicted felon himself.

I highly doubt it. He would’ve had “the help” do it. Such basic, menial work is beneath the orange felon.

It does seem highly unlikely.

Would he even know how to open a tube of super glue?

But, the story seems to have some validity.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt one morning found Trump using super glue to personally attach golden embellishments to the Oval Office fireplace mantle, according to the forthcoming book “Regime Change” by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

“As he was known to prefer his own aesthetic handiwork to anyone else’s, the sight of the president squeezing glue onto gilded appliqués and mounting them on the wall himself surprised no one in his inner circle,” the newspaper said in a report on the book, which comes out next week.

Er... you think? We haven't heard DL thank them for anything.

But I'm curious. What would you say if the Autopen demolished the East Wing in the middle of the night and started work on a massive gold ballroom secretly funded by Soros?

I think this deserves a multiple, don't you? You'd say:

a) That's okay, they all do it, they're all as bad as each other.

b) Sleepy needs a little exercise, they say dancing's good for cardio and neural connections.

c) Look, it's only the White House. Soros can get to know Sleepy a little better.

d) Despicable deplorable diabolical - SLANDER !!!

Donald J. Trump   @realDonaldTrump

We are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court. The Military/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND! It is something that Presidents have wanted for 150 years, and that the Military has been seeking for the last 100 years. Their wish will soon be fulfilled! Construction is under budget and ahead of schedule. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.

The order placed on hold a Washington judge’s ruling that the project could not proceed without approval from Congress. Roberts issued the order because he handles emergency appeals from cases filed in the nation’s capital.

The Trump administration has won several cases on the Supreme Court’s emergency docket, although the justices have rejected some of Trump’s policies after conducting a full review.

Administration lawyers argue that the president has broad authority to make changes to the White House and other federal properties. They also say the ballroom must be completed because of national security needs.

Do they now?

So what did DL's lawyers have to say about Sleepy Joe's election win in 2020?

Don't answer that. It would appear the cat's got your tongue.

I see.

So what did DL's lawyers have to say about taking $1.8 bil off the IRS to pay DL's friends and giving the Trump family a lifetime exemption from income tax?

Don't answer that. The judge hearing the case referred them to their respective bars for immediate dismissal.
