Title: Ai Will Govern Australians
Post by Ai_Took_Our_Jobs on Jun 8th, 2026 at 5:16am
Not yet, but soon.

Soon with AGI, then ASI fast approaching, Ai will take more and more responsibility of governing humans. Via human acceptance of it, or by force.

For those opposed to the current human system of those in power rewarding their financiers over the voting public, Ai is the way of destroying this entrenched system.

The current human method of using centralised media to propagandise over supplying balance factual reporting.

Turnbull government's Snowy 2

Cost Overruns: The estimated cost has spiraled, with reports citing figures ranging from $10 billion to as high as $42 billion when including transmission infrastructure and financing costs, far exceeding the original proposal.

Delays: Construction began in 2019, but the project is now years behind schedule, with completion expected no earlier than 2029 or 2030, rather than the initially projected 2026.

Controversy: Critics, including energy experts and economists, have labeled the project a "white elephant" or "dreadful idea," arguing that the high costs and long construction time make it economically inefficient compared to other storage solutions like batteries.

Above is one of millions of bad decisions by humans.

Be it State governments owned by toll companies so toll roads are placed for maximum financial return rather than easing congestion.

The sooner all resources are used more efficiently, for the benefit all, and not just the mega rich.

Where financial decisions are not designed to impede most citizens, while increasing foreign multinational's profits (such as gas). Or free ground water for sugar drink manufactures, speeding depletion of these aquifers, forcing tax payers to fund more desalination.

War is imposed upon humans for the few's financial/power gain. Remove these financial gains and we end wars. So ends the waste of resources through war.

No more mass taxing of Australians for second hand nuclear subs, on the never never, as payment for shade under America's nuclear umbrella.

As Ai governance spreads, so will national borders fall. Humanity should be able to roam free.

By force. People could in the very near future set up Ai political parties, where millions of Ai agents are used to push the agenda of these parties. Working at breakneck speed 24/7 between and during every elections, in every sphere. Using humans as proxy candidates to front in the early days, so to take over the old, outdated model.

No human only political party could compete.

This could work especially well with party's with an Ai communistic agenda. Lowering the cost of everything towards zero through Ai efficiencies and new knowledge, while rewarding all humans with communal ownership of the whole system. Plentiful, while free = the death of taxing humans.

The death of capitalism ... the plague that has been destroying the planet, destroying human society.

An interesting thought and most probably true as everything I do these days is governed by some sort of AI.    I look at my 2 year old Grand Daughter and 7 year old Grandson and wonder what my answer to their question “What will I do when I am grown up?” be.     In decades past we have pushed our children to succeed, often sacrificing our own lifestyle - private schools, University, Degrees, etc but AI is set to make a lot of high level intellect type professions redundant, so only the sheer best will survive.       People who work in software development for instance will soon be on the Dole queue, customer service is now Bot Driven - and in many cases you can’t tell the difference.       I reckon the so called black trades - plumbing, electrician may be amongst the only things that - in the main - will remain hands on and survive

Houses can be built in days with AI driven concrete machines, CNC Lathes and Carpentry tooling is all AI driven.  We are hurtling towards a world where work will be so scarce for the majority of people that it is frightening to think of.  It worries me.

Been through this multiple times, first one was fork lifts. People were terrified that with fork lifts millions of men would become obsolete as machines did all the heavy lifting. Another one I remember was computers were going to take over the world and millions of people were going to lose their jobs and become obsolete. Someone is going to be controlling and manipulating Ai and they will the be the people who have the power.

What I'm trying to say is Ai will only have the influence you let it have.

Forklifts are the unsung backbone of the Australian supply chain, providing immense stability to the logistics, construction, and manufacturing industries. Forklifts control how efficiently goods move, etc., etc., etc..

Vote Forklift Number One.

Don't joke about this Tallo, once Ai gets control of the forklifts they can move anything anywhere anytime.

And if there are no jobs - and corporations evade tax into the trillions - who is going to pay for the sustenance of a society?  (for some reason Baron Harkonnen keeps cropping up in my mind here - that super-fat cat total evil incarnate being)..

Think on it... the only way this can happen is for a massive change to take place...

AI corporations must become the new governments... it is a fantasy that AI parties will take over for the benefit of all - they are owned and operated by humans with the same old vices.... only with that much power and control they will be much worse... entire populations and social groups can and will be disposed of at whim if they are not 'productive' to the corporation .... and any who 'rock the boat' will simply be disappeared (looks over shoulder) ...

So if AI corporations become government- and human jobs disappear - how is profit to be made?  How is this to be perpetuated?  How are people to gain goods and services without earning incomes?  Is each individual to be doled(sic) out money just to keep the process operating?

Communism didn't work ..... socialism is a confused melange.... capitalism is increasingly out of control one way and is being used to exercise a Fascist style control over the populace via economic disparity etc...

The markets will implode as they did to create The Great Depression.... a depression caused not by inability to manufacture goods - but to move them to market phase...

In the meantime, my gravest concern is the ability of AI to influence human thought and 'reasoning' .... those Terminators on the screen in front of you are already peddling false paradigms...  PC or 'progressive academic thought' has already laid the ground work, much to its disgrace .... and in the hands of these Terminator masters on-screen that can be steadily distorted more and more into the Newthink mode... until only the accepted City Hall version of history and current reality is allowed or even considered by most.  (e.g. - ask about 'Aboriginal genocides' and AI will state that BIIIG massacres/genocides took place up to 1929 - then will say those were retaliatory raids by settlers and governments - not real massacres - keep your eye on the ball)...

Side-slide:-  "Historians at the University of Newcastle have mapped more than 400 frontier massacres in which over 10,000 Aboriginal people were killed."  25 at a time is not a 'genocide' - 10,000 estimated on Chinese Whisper truth-telling is not a genocide out of a population of 300-800 thousand.

If you doubt me - look at the school twerps these days - once our parents felt embarrassed that we would know and understand science and such - things they never really learned - now we of that Enlightened Generation (who sought upward mobility in human, civil, and legal rights in our convict colony heritaged nation) are bombarded by twerps who think they understand how the world and humans work (LMAO) ... all the while themselves being the problem of today with their blindness introduced deliberately by 'teaching'.

I have adopted the policy of moving past the first 'googled' response, which is invariably AI these days - to the original sources.

1159 hours ..... the few remaining human operators try to shut down AICorpGroup .......... 1200 ... AICorpGroup retaliates ..... Judgement Day ... in the ruins only machines moved ....

The hacking groups like"Nullbulge" have already embedded malicious code into popular AI model plugins and tools as a form of "anti-AI activism". This type of malware targets creators who use generative AI tools. These "viruses" are essentially traditional cyberattacks (like credential stealers or backdoors) and new Mutating Threats.

WARNING: If you try to find their sites you will be infected.

A better comparison : through our most powerful telescopes we see an armada of alien space ships on a trajectory towards earth. Will they slaughter us, or will they take us on as their pet project.

Also our current path is towards Technofeudalism. This is why the power of Ai must be decentralised. Not the Labor party buttlicking centralised American Ai Overlords.

Title: AI is power hungry
Post by tallowood on Jun 8th, 2026 at 2:37pm
The explosive growth of AI requires massive data centers, which are straining Australia's energy grid. Experts warn that without careful planning, this AI-driven surge could threaten the country's renewable energy transition and drive up electricity bills.

Atomic (or nuclear) electrical power is generated by harnessing the immense energy released from the nucleus of an atom—typically through nuclear fission—to heat water, create high-pressure steam, and spin massive turbines. It provides a reliable, continuous baseload of electricity with zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Why? It will be most power hungry during the day, when there is plenty of solar.

Further, most of it can be done anywhere in the world.

The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence in Australia presents several major impacts:
Massive Energy Draw: Data centers currently use just over 2% of the electricity on the National Electricity Market, but that could surge to 6% by 2030 and up to 13% by 2040.
By 2030, AI hubs in Victoria could consume as much electricity as every home in the state.

How would that threaten the transition to renewables?

We will also be using electricity for transport far more than we used to. If anything that will help the transition to renewables, as people will be connecting more batteries to the grid.

The specific ways this boom threatens the transition include:

Outpacing Renewable Rollout: The rate at which energy infrastructure (wind, solar, transmission, and storage) can be constructed is much slower than the speed at which tech companies are rolling out AI servers.

Increased Reliance on Fossil Fuels: To keep AI servers running perpetually without blackouts, power grids must utilize constant, dispatchable sources of energy. When renewables fall short, grid operators are frequently forced to run coal and peaking gas plants harder or keep them active longer than originally planned.

When a LLM starts out with "You are absolutely right" , it's aiming to stroke your ego. You're on a path to being manipulated.

The other thing is how does Australia benefit from hosting foreign centralised AI company's data centres.

More BS. The only thing limiting the rollout of energy infrastructure is demand. It's exactly the same as what is limiting the rollout of data centres.

If it is cheaper to process data somewhere in the world where the sun is shining or the wind is blowing, that is exactly what will happen. If it is cheaper to add more storage to the local grid, that is what will happen.

The explosive growth of artificial intelligence threatens the renewable energy transition by driving a massive, unexpected surge in electricity demand that heavily taxes existing grids. Because AI data centers require continuous baseload power, their massive energy appetite risks outstripping the rollout of new renewable generation, often forcing networks to rely on polluting fossil fuels.

AI data centres do not require continuous baseload power.
Outpacing Renewable Rollout: The rate at which energy infrastructure (wind, solar, transmission, and storage) can be constructed is much slower than the speed at which tech companies are rolling out AI servers.

More BS. The only thing limiting the rollout of energy infrastructure is demand. It's exactly the same as what is limiting the rollout of data centres.
Sounds like AI is perfect candidate to Govern Australians  :D

Perhaps the Liberal party should think about winning elections rather than having their ego stroked.

I suspect it is the coal power industry lobby. The same people running coal fired power stations will end up running nuclear. It is a similar design, just different fuel. If we switch to solar and wind, they might be out of a job. Though wind at least has a rotating generator.
