Aldi claims Roy Morgan’s ‘supermarket of the year’ award for sixth time in a row
A major supermarket chain has claimed the crown for being the “best” supermarket in Australia - for the sixth time in a row. :) News.com.au May 1, 2026 Aussies have saved more than $3000 per year by shopping at one of the country’s biggest supermarket chains, which has just been awarded the top gong by a leading consumer research organisation. Aldi was named the 2025 Supermarket of the Year in Roy Morgan’s Customer Satisfaction Awards, with an average customer satisfaction score of 87.6 per cent. This is the sixth consecutive time the German juggernaut has won the award, and the ninth time overall, making it the most decorated supermarket in the history of the award. Aldi is the third largest grocery chain by net worth in Australia. Aldi Australia group director Simon Padovani-Ginies said the company was “incredibly proud” to receive the award. “As cost of living pressures continue, Australians are seeking value more than ever. … (and) 69 per cent of our high-quality, award-winning range is priced under $5,” he said. “We’re proud our commitment to the lowest prices is consistently independently verified so our customers have confidence that when they shop with us they are always getting high-quality products at incredible Aldi prices.” Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine congratulated Aldi for their efforts in providing “high levels of satisfaction” to their customers in 2025. “The ‘Good Different’ supermarket offers a compelling alternative to its rivals (and) is currently on a record-breaking 55-month winning streak stretching back to 2021,” Mr Levine said. :) “As well as the market leading level of customer satisfaction appreciated by millions of Australians, ALDI is currently Australia’s second most trusted brand and Roy Morgan has recognised ALDI as one of Australia’s top five most trusted brands for over six years – throughout an ever-changing set of different economic and political circumstances,” he said |

They must not serve black people otherwise Blooby and half the other bigots on this forum would never shop for their overpriced processed food there.

Aldi has very little variety of products available.
If I shop there I still have to make another trip to Coles or Woolies to get all the items I want. |

Speaking of groceries and prices ...
I see that Coles has been found GUILTY of misleading customers over the "fake discounts" saga. Not much impact on the Coles share price .... so far. Perhaps they will take a hit later on today or tomorrow. |

My neighbour reckons ALDI is great, but I haven't switched over to them yet. As the cost of living pressure mounts, I may well become a devotee. As for cheese ... love cheese. Reminds me of an old computer game Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The truck carrying loads of cheese is not permitted over the dam wall bridge due to: "orders pertaining to the upcoming ceremony" ... The driver asks the guard to message the general, as the cheese is for the officers' mess. No luck. The driver asks what he is supposed to do with all this cheese? The guard replies ... I don't know ... find some crackers? ;D |

;D Hard to believe the Aldi in Belmont Forum will have been open for 10 years on June 6th. It was one of the first 3 to open in WA on that same day. Mirrabooka was another one and I can't remember the third. This picture was taken by me at Belmont Forum on June 5th, 2016 - the day before Aldi opened. When Aldi opened the next day it was absolute chaos, you almost couldn't move at that end of the Forum with so many people wanting to get into Aldi and they were only letting 20 people in at a time. I believe the other 2 Aldis that opened that day were the same. Took about 2 weeks before things quietened down a bit from memory. (The Flight Centre on the right is still there). 20160605_114045.jpg (169 KB | 4

I have a strong suspicion that the "Coles own brand" products are also from the major producers just with different packaging. |
