"It’s not easy for states to prosecute federal law enforcement officers, particularly if federal officials impede an investigation. At the same time, states have more power than people may realize. "The law is clear that there is no absolute immunity for federal officers from state law, despite suggestions to the contrary by Vice President JD Vance and other Trump administration officials. Rather, state prosecutions are governed by a legal framework called supremacy clause immunity that stems from In re Neagle, an 1890 Supreme Court decision." When Can States Prosecute Federal Agents? "To the extent that federal officials may see themselves as operating with impunity, the availability of state prosecutions is an important reminder: States have tools to hold federal officials accountable." |

Except for those that break the law and enter the country illegally. If you break the law and enter illegally then you are above the law. |

State law - Federal law ... sometimes one may not over-ride the other and the 'orders' are sought just for publicity for posturing politicians putting a progressive view instea of abiding by the law of the land about illegal immigrants and criminals.

Yes and Trump also ignores court orders. I would bet that if it were a democrat in charge that people would be locked up if they did this. We seen in the Trump trials and now with case after case against various government entities that the judges take zero action when their rulings are ignored. There are likely over 100 people who should have been locked up for contempt. From memory Trump was on about his 27th warning of contempt and still nothing was ever done and he never stopped doing it. |

Crime committed in Minnesota is tried by a Minisota state judge even if the criminal happens to work for a federal authority. That has no relivance. |

The criminal convictions of many ICE agents is evidence of several crimes. Many have previous convictions for sexual assault, violent crimes, etc. And why wouldn't they - it's a prerequisite for working in and around the Trump administration. |

He's right, Dnarever. Court orders don't mean a thing. The old boy has been consistent on this since he became Frank. Rule of law, innit. |

Yes correct anyone can just ignore hundreds of court orders and expect nothing to be done about it. I think there was even one judge who threatened Trump with contempt about 8 times but never done anything at all. |

Yes, but Frannie's a constitutional conservative, you see. They do have a fair bit of contempt. Courts, the law - the constitution. They're not too happy with the citizenry either. You're a duck, apparently. And I'm a devious Paki Bastard. |

People call, say "Beware, doll, you're bound to fall" You thought they were all a-kiddin' you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging your next meal How does it feel? How does it feel To be without a home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? |

Wilfully ignoring a court order is criminal contempt - it is in itself a crime. There is also civil contempt failing to comply with a court order meant to force compliance, not what these orders were. The ICE contempt is criminal. |
