Australia’s Albanese to address nation on Iran war
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will make a rare address to the nation across television and radio networks later today to outline his government’s response to the Middle East conflict.

The address is expected at 7pm Canberra time (08:00 GMT).

On Monday, Albanese said he wanted more certainty from Trump on the objectives of the ongoing war on Iran. He also announced that the tax on fuel would be temporarily cut to ease the burden on motorists.

Australia’s Treasurer Jim Chalmers had warned that the longer the war drags on, the greater the impact would be on the country’s economy. “Australia didn’t choose this war; they are paying the price for this war at the petrol bowser and more broadly,” Chalmers said.

A fuel crisis, coupled with the PM saying 'Don't panic' two days before Easter, is guaranteed to be chaotic.

My car's tank is full, and I only use it about once a week, so I couldn't care less.

I don't know if you've ever been to WA, Bobby, but nobody gets in the way of Sandgropers driving to Mandurah on Easter weekend.

Main message I got was if people can use public transport to keep the fuel level higher then do so.
Our servo here yesterday when I filled the top half of my vehicle, was like a ghost town! Tumble weeds!
Why? Prices were much the same as anywhere else.
No diesel but petrol and LP gas okay.

It used to be open 24 hours but now it’s closed all night.

A little sign of things to come. Restricted hours of operation, restricted fuel access.
It a thing that could just happen before we know it. A progression of sorts.

I’m thinking going into Melbourne via train while it’s free. Take daughter and I to go see the titanic experience, instead of driving.
But not to leave car at station car park, because fuel tanks get punctured and fuel emptied.
