Title: EU free trade agreement Post by lee on Mar 25th, 2026 at 12:35pm
What a complete disaster. The government will start the ban on sheep exports in 2028. The EU gave us 60,00 tonnes of sheep meat exports under the FTA. New Zealand under their FTA gets over 4 times more in sheep and goat exports. It didn't push for anything. The government appears not to have tired very hard, if at all.
But the government "gets" WA. /sarc Meanwhile, von Leyen who has admitted killing Germany's nuclear power was wrong, after pushing for it while in office in Germany, continues gaily on her way. She hasn't actually addressed the cost to Germany of the renewables on manufacturing. ;) |

Live sheep exporting (by sea) is a barbaric practice and banning by 2028 is too far off. It should be immediately.
Reasonably sure NZ banned it ages ago. |

Yes well said Ai, live sheep export by sea should be banned. This is long overdue and a very cruel animal practice. :(

Correct. My position is that live exports should stop this very minute. I'm extremely proud of that position. So, just to be clear, what's your position? |

Yet you don't support Australian abattoir workers, and all those Australian jobs in that supply chain.
Shame Lee ! |

The abattoir workers are going full steam. The truckies are hauling the livestock and carcasses full steam. Maybe you should learn a little before you pontificate. ::) |

I think most abattoir factories are now owned by foreign Companies, like the Brazilians.
Lucky we didn't allow GrainCorp to be sold to the Americans. |

They should still be going out, UNTIL the government puts in place an FTA that includes those tonnages of live exports, minus the skins, offal etc. greggerypeccary wrote on Mar 25th, 2026 at 6:54pm:
Not too afraid to say. It is not my fault that my answer didn't suit you. I replied to the question. You just didn't frame it correctly. I could have answered my position was vertical. ;) |
