Jason, that's an impressive amount of words to avoid answering a very simple question.

You've gone from the American Civil War to the Cherokee to whatever that "Red East vs Blue North" fan fiction is supposed to be, and somehow still haven't explained the one thing that actually matters here.

Donald Trump holds the presidency, has control of government, and is the one making the decisions. If he can't negotiate a deal or avoid escalation, that's on him. Not the opposition, not the media, not some reimagined 19th-century allegory, him.

So I'll ask again, nice and clearly.

What exactly do you expect "the left" to do in this situation?

And while you're at it, be consistent, did you expect Republicans to roll over and help Barack Obama or Joe Biden govern when they were in power, or is this one of those convenient double standards you only apply when it suits?

That's not evidence, it's you moving the goalposts because you can't substantiate what you said.

And this idea that grieving parents should "accept the sacrifice" and not blame the country that carried out the strike is not insight into human psychology, it's fantasy. People who have just lost their children in an airstrike don't behave according to your tidy ideological expectations, they grieve, they rage, and they direct that anger at whoever they believe killed their kids. That's basic human behaviour, not some obscure theory.
