Title: Pay to see the 12 Apostles
Post by Bobby. on Mar 9th, 2026 at 5:20pm

The Victorian Govt is so bankrupt they want to charge you money
to see the 12 Apostles.
I hear that it will be $20 per person.   ::)

It's about 2 hours drive West of Geelong.

New tourist tax for popular Twelve Apostles on Victoria's Great Ocean Road

Topic:Travel and Tourism

13h ago

In short:
Tourists will be charged an entry fee to visit the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road.

The Victorian government says the new fee will help fund upgrades to tourist sites in the south-west of the state.

What's next?
The entry fee cost will be decided after consultation with local councils, business operators and traditional owners.

Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson said the government's plan was a cash-grab.

"I think it's just another example of a government that's run out of money," she said.

Ms Wilson said the site was an iconic part of the state's landscape that should be free to see.

Looks like the Sudanese have been carving up those rocks with their machetes.
They look like they are going to fall over like Dan used to

Nowadays, there are only eight apostles left. Each of the Twelve Apostles stands at various heights. As the years go by, the weather has continued eroding the limestone stacks. With continued erosion, the stacks will erode further and further until there are no more.

The continuous erosion not only affects the Twelve Apostles but also the coastal land. The cliffs along the coast will likely become rock stacks as well. So even if we do lose the remaining Twelve Apostles, there will continue to be stacks of limestone rocks jutting out of the South Ocean in the future.

Dirty Dan sent us broke - we're bankrupt -
Labor thinks of new taxes every week or so -
to try and pay the interest on the $240 billion of debt.

That's called "erosion" in case you didn't know.

erosion /ĭ-rō′zhən/
noun

1. The group of natural processes, including weathering, dissolution, abrasion, corrosion, and transportation, by which material is worn away from the earth's surface.

2. The process of eroding or the condition of being eroded.
"erosion of confidence in the governor; erosion of the value
     of the dollar."

3. The act or operation of eroding or eating away.

The thing is you can still see them from various points along the great ocean road.   Granted, the best view is from the lookout that forms part of the Visitor’s Centre.  Buggered if I am paying anything to see something which should remain free for everyone.  Knowing this Government and the slackjaw Opposition we have, they will build a bypass highway so the only way you can see the remaining ones is from the lookout.    Stupid thoughts from a government that is declining rapidly in popularity.  However, what is the alternative?

How about an oxygen meter on your mouth and nose?
They could charge you tax on oxygen used.

Really - I never drove there before.
I have seen the surf coast near Geelong - the roads there are good.

Yeah, last time I was down that way, about 8 years ago, the roads were terrible.

Did the Adventure Flight which was good.

Australia. The further you get from it, the better it looks. Ask Nemo :D

Fun facts.
Space Doco. American Astronaut describes the country "The Great Boring Landmass" as viewed from space

To emphasise this. The world's oldest river is in Australia and is still a shallow run of water.

The Media industry of Music & Entertainment like the Oscars. Tourism comes under that umbrella. In America it's all about sex, hence why the Left try to bring Trump down to their sexual level of Rape and Epstein. In Australia it's all about Money like taking $450m off taxpayers via Anus's Voice fiasco.
Australian Tourism is basically pay more for less. Look what the Media Left Tourism culture did to Alice Springs.
Is that the Australia you want to live in? Just look at Victoria.
