GENEVA — Amid ongoing negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program, Iran's Supreme Leader unequivocally informed the United States that they would rain death and destruction down upon them if they were bombed two more times. Maybe three.

Iranian ballistic missiles hit the Al-Dhafra air base in the UAE.

There are also supposedly landings in Kuwait. It's unclear about Jordan—there were explosions.
There were missile interceptions in Abu Dhabi.

I don’t pretend to understand why ( because all politicians lie) but if the USA is in I support them and if Australia and France become engaged then I obviously will support those forces as well.

The IDF said that over 200 Israeli Air Force aircraft had struck 500 Iranian targets on Saturday night, in the largest aerial attack ever conducted by Israeli forces.
An IDF video showed two major initial waves of attacks.

The first wave struck what appeared to be dozens of radars and anti aircraft defenses,
especially in the part of Iran closer to Israel and the Tehran area.

During the second wave, the Air Force struck Iran's ballistic missile apparatus to attempt to reduce its ability to strike the Israeli home front.

I hope part of the plan was Israel and the United States training up an army which will try and quickly give the Iranian people an alternative to back.

Yes, but "legality" implies rule of law - aka a rules based system which doesn't exist at present, despite the predilection of leaders to claim allegience to 'the rules based system".

Doc Evatt described the necessities for a rules-based order in 1945 (at the founding of the UN) but great power rivalry won the day.

Not to mention confusion/contradiction re a supposed "right " to religious freedom, which figures high in the current attack on Iran.

I know a little bit about bombs from a misguided youth .

Every single bomb, missile , bullet and weapons of any sort have a expiry date.

Starting a quick three month long war is the cheapest option to dispose of military assets that are out of date.

We will continue to see these events every ten years for that reason.

Russia is doing exactly the same with its own weapons and also gaining experience with the nato ( USA) weapons and new tactics in their Ukrainian war.

It’s just like cleaning out your fridge with whatever is going out of date.

using up 10 year old and 20 year old missiles first.
