One of those rare actors who was believable in every role he took on.

Robert Duvall, known for his roles in Apocalypse Now and The Godfather movies, has died at age 95.

His wife, Luciana, confirmed his death, saying he died "peacefully at home".

He won an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance as an alcoholic former country music star in the 1983 film Tender Mercies.
