Title: Iran: Where's the outrage? Post by Gordon on Jan 13th, 2026 at 2:30pm
The Iranian regime is one of the worst in the world, no need to go into detail about them as it's a given.
Here's why I recon the left aren't taking to the streets in support of the Iranian people. The regime is : anti-west anti-USA anti-Israel anti-imperialist Islamic Quasi leftist (60% of industry state owned) All this gets the left excited and allows them to ignore everything else. |

Trump has promised to come and rescue Iranian protesters, saying that the Iranian regime must not kill any protesters, yet his government has killed one protester, beaten hundreds and detained U.S. citizens and legal residents in their sweep for what they claim to be the worst of the worst. Why is Trump concerned about the safety of Iranian protesters but not Americans?

So the main reason is when Iran falls, there will be no support for Hamas, Hezbolah and the Houthis who are all the darlings of the left.
If Iran goes under, Palestinians will be forces to actually make peace with Israel, and we all know that will upset the left. |

Iran Cracks Down. Where Are the Western Protests?
‘It’s a bit like Gaza,’ says a BBC journalist, in what is an unintentionally revealing remark. As the people of Iran brave another intensifying crackdown by their rulers after another effort to reclaim their basic rights from one of the world’s most repressive regimes, my question is: Where are the protests in the West? Specifically, where are all those defenders of persecuted Muslims who have been so active on the streets of New York, London, Sydney, Rome and elsewhere the past two years? Where are the demands for justice and freedom for the downtrodden victims of a brutally repressive state? What is so different about the cause they have been espousing in their demonstrations over Gaza and the cause of the millions of innocent coreligionists 1,000 miles to their east? Those kaffiyeh-wearing, banner-waving, slogan-chanting activists say they were moved to protest, sometimes violently and unlawfully, by the plight of Muslims dispossessed of their lands and livelihoods, immiserated, starved, beaten and murdered by a savage regime. In Iran, this has been happening for decades. More than three million Iranians have been driven from their homeland in the 47 years of the mullahs’ rule. People have been forced into prisons (literal ones—not the metaphorical “ open-air prison ” of Gaza) or into exile in foreign lands, their homes and property stolen, their loved ones punished and frequently murdered. Over the past two weeks, the clash between good and evil has seemed to be approaching a climax, and the brutality has escalated . Where are the student radicals disrupting classes? We all marveled at Queers for Palestine . Why don’t we have Queers for Iran, a country whose official attitude toward homosexuality is similar to Hamas’s? Where are the movie stars and pop icons with their beautifully produced plangent video pleas for justice? Why haven’t we heard condemnations from Zohran Mamdani , the mayor of New York , or Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London , pledging solidarity with the Iranians and demanding the end of the theocratic occupation? Why hasn’t dear little Greta Thunberg gotten herself arrested for passionately supporting the Iranian people against their overlords? Where is the International Criminal Court’s crack team of lawyers to investigate crimes against humanity and issue indictments against Ali Khamenei , Iran’s supreme leader, and Masoud Pezeshkian, the country’s president, as they did for Benjamin Netanyahu? I was in London this past weekend. Unlike my recent trips there this one wasn’t interrupted by mass demonstrations on behalf of persecuted Muslims. There was a small gathering against the Iranian regime and a courageous young man scaled the walls of the Iranian embassy, removing the Islamic Republic’s flag from its balcony and replacing it with the flag of the former regime. But there was nothing of the energy or scale of the anti-Israel marches. Perhaps part of the reason for the silence is that people aren’t getting the information out of Iran that they need to get them off their backsides and into the streets. In the U.K. there has been criticism that the BBC and other major media organizations spent days playing down or even ignoring the dramatic events in Iran. John Simpson, one of the grandest of BBC grand panjandrums, was one of many journalists to spring to their own defense. He noted how difficult it is to get accurate and reliable information given the reporting conditions in the country. “Very difficult for news organisations to get correspondents in. The BBC is banned, and so are most others,” he tweeted . And then, in a moment of almost picturesque lack of self-awareness, he added: “It’s a bit like Gaza”. No, Mr. Simpson. It isn’t a bit like Gaza, where the scarcity of reliable information didn’t stop the BBC and many of its peers from broadcasting daily for two years the most lurid accounts of the Israeli offensive there—much of it pure Hamas lies. Perhaps the strangely muted vigilant defenders of the Middle East’s most persecuted could make the case that we in the West are already at least trying to weaken the Iranian regime. We don’t sell it arms or work with it as an ally, unlike Israel. It’s true that Iran is subject to sanctions. But this is no thanks to the left over here or most of the Europeans who have been so fiercely critical of Israel. Successive Democratic administrations in the U.S. worked with European governments to try to coax Iran back into the international fold. Which may provide a further clue to the lack of heightened passion for Iranians. It has something to do with politics. President Trump has led the way in diplomatically isolating Iran again—in both his first and second terms. He has gone much further, the first time around with the elimination of Qassem Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Quds force, and in this term with the attack on the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities. Washington’s leadership has clearly weakened Tehran’s grip. Some people no doubt would rather see Mr. Trump denied a foreign-policy success than see 90 million people liberated from tyranny. And who knows, to indulge my cynicism fully for a moment—perhaps the reason so many protesters condemn Israel for its legitimate actions and give Iran a pass for its illegitimate ones is that, unlike Israel, Iran isn’t run by Jews. How many did they kill the last time during the 12 day war which Iran didn't start ?? Only Gordon buys into this sh.t which is what happens when you only listen to sky news :D LOL

Two errors: 1. International law remains a pipe-dream - which you should ponder: why it is so? 2. The UN Charter does contain provisions for the UN to intercede in state affairs, if the state is failing in its duty to keep its citizens safe. But - given the first point - we have Trump taking control of an operation which demands the wisdom of Solomon.... |

Well, until recently, the issue capturing the West's attention has been the ongoing genocide by the 'Infidel' zionist colonizers of Palestine Mandate lands. But now the failing economy in Iran has brought to light the considerable internal oppostion to the (Koranic) 'god-defending' leaders of Iran. And so now we see considerable support in the West for Trump's plans to overthrow the Mullahs in Iran - but how, exactly? We await with bated breath.... |

Incorrect on all three points: 1. Iran's leaders want to establish the universal caliphate. 2. Islam itself isn't a crime: Malcolm Turnbull (when he was PM) referred to Islam as "one of the world's great religions". 3. One of the world's most successful trading nations is 'quasi leftist', with a considerable proportion of state ownership of industry. Quote:

Lebanon might be able to get rid of Hezbollah the Sunni Vs Shia wars in Yemen might end. They want their King back and stop wasting Iranian money on Islamic terrorism so they can spend it in Iran. |

Wow. Even when Iran openly admits to killing thousands of Iranian citizens, Nail and TGD still come to their defence. I guess its no surprise from TGD who tried to pass off the CCP starving 50 million Chinese people to death as a little accident.
It's sort of the opposite of argumentum ad hitlerum. No matter the scale or clarity of the evil, some idiot on the internet will defend it, typically as a leftist/woke agenda. |

This is how an Iranian girl, a follower of Zoroastrianism, explains everything "on her fingers": 🔴"Hello, I am Iranian. Everyone keeps asking the same question over and over: what's wrong with the leftists? Why are they so noisy, why do they support the Gaza Strip, but remain completely silent when it comes to Iran? The answer is simple: because the truth exposes the lie. Because acknowledging Iran destroys the ideological fantasy they have built. Let's be clear: the Islamic Republic of Iran is not a victim of Western imperialism. It is a theocratic authoritarian regime that exists by exporting violence, funding Islamist groups, and suppressing its own people. Yes, it funds Hamas. It funds Hezbollah. All these small proxy groups in the region and worldwide are financed with Iranian money — not government or regime money, but stolen funds: money taken from workers who today in Iran cannot even afford bread; from families destroyed by inflation; from women who are beaten, imprisoned, tortured, and raped for refusing religious submission. And that is exactly why the leftists are silent: because Hamas feeds their narrative, but the Iranian people do not. Because Islamist violence against Israelis can be turned into "resistance," but Islamist violence against Iranians reveals the truth. At this very moment, as you read this, Iran — a country with over 92 million people — is being destroyed in real time. Almost a complete blackout for more than 24 hours: no internet, no phone connection, no communication at all. And — silence. No "urgent protests" at Western universities, no hashtags, no statements of solidarity, no megaphones. Because the suffering of Iranians does not fit their agenda. Because modern leftist movements are no longer driven by human rights — they are driven by selective outrage and ideological loyalty. They will scream about censorship — unless it is done by an Islamist regime. They will condemn state violence to the fullest — but will never say a word if that violence is wrapped in religious language. They chant "Free Palestine," but will never say "Free Iran," because that would require one difficult admission: that political Islam is not liberation — it is domination. And, by the way, this is happening in the West today as well. The Islamic Republic is not anti-imperialist; it is imperialist toward its own people. Hamas is not an isolated resistance group; it is part of a broader Islamist ecosystem funded, trained, and supported by regimes like the Islamic Republic of Iran. Here is the part they do not want to hear: You cannot claim moral superiority while justifying a regime that kills women and punishes them for refusing the hijab, kills protesters, cuts off the internet for a 92-million-strong nation, and uses foreign proxy groups to cover up its own internal collapse. You cannot pretend to care about Palestinians while ignoring Iranians who are being shot, tortured, and killed by the Islamic Republic. This is not solidarity — this is ideological blindness. The Iranian people are not silent — they are forced into silence. The silence of Western leftists is their choice: a choice to defend ideology, justify Islamism, and turn a blind eye to the suffering of millions because the pain of the Iranian people complicates the slogan. History will remember this moment. It will remember who spoke about universal freedom and who decided that some lives are less important than preserving a narrative. Long live Iran." https://x.com/visionergeo/status/2010298916344885666 |
