Didnt Rudd say much the same thing? ANd Keating?

But an apology only works if it is accepted. The Aborigines have never accepted any of the million apologies.

The Sorry Day festival continues,  no matter how many apologies are delivered because none of it is ever accepted.

Key Responses to the National Apology

The apology was a profoundly emotional and significant moment for thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia. Crowds gathered at Parliament House and in cities and towns across the country to watch the broadcast.

    # Dr. Tom Calma's Response: As the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Dr. Calma was asked by Stolen Generations organisations to formally respond. He acknowledged the Parliament for laying the foundations for healing and a reconciled Australia where everyone belongs.
    # Presentation of the Glass Coolamon: Following the speeches, Lorraine Peeters (Weilwun and Gamilaroi peoples), a Stolen Generations member, presented a glass coolamon to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the Leader of the Opposition, Brendan Nelson. The gift was a symbol of hope in a new relationship: "fragile yet strong," representing the new covenant to nurture Aboriginal children.
    # Individual and Community Reactions: For many survivors, hearing the word "sorry" from the government was a moment of immense relief and validation of their life experiences and suffering. Christine King, Indigenous Co-Chair of the Stolen Generations Alliance, described it as "the beginning of our healing process".

Seems to have been accepted to me.  Seems you misrepresent the Indigenous Australians yet again, hey, Soren.  Tsk, tsk, tsk... ::) ::)

Thanks.

Too bad the forum software is so trash that it can only embed youtube videos.

It's worth a watch.

I see Frank is as desperate for a distraction back to his latest obsession with fake news that nobody is indulging her with...

Never been accepted.  Accepting an apology means forgiveness.

The Uluru Statemeent demonstrates that there is no forgiveness.

An apology for triggering all the frontier 'wars' on the false premise that someone was 'stealing their land' instead of developing it for the better good of all.... would be nice for a change.

Gonna cost a lot of Rent for the facilities available these days...

It's either that or their own Homeland where they can do things their way, ay?  Couple of nice little earners on the side to bring in some Ready - they could be guards at Gon'Mo up there in the Crocodile Colditz Country - a few Maverick style hunts for visiting dignitaries...

Hard to run that Homeland once the Abo Industry taps are all turned off and they're on their own...

"This isn't the land of back-up, Jane - this is the land of You're On Your Own."
