To be fair, DOGE is an American thing so 'checks' is technically correct.

Not that anyone will receive any money (unless they're a billionaire).

Q: Will U.S. citizens receive stimulus or tariff-based checks of $2,000 in November?

A: No checks are being issued. President Donald Trump said he wants to use tariff revenue to give “dividend” payments of “at least $2,000” to “middle-income people and lower-income people.” But no formal plan has been finalized and approved by Congress. Fiscal policy experts say there’s not enough tariff revenue for that.

Yeah, these checks are in the mail as much as high food prices were ending on day one.

Hang on!   :-/

Didn't the convicted felon and adjudicated rapist in the White (Supremacist) House say that the US has no inflation?

You know, right after he ended the Ukraine war.

DOGE checks (cheques)  are a good idea, to maintain the vote of the population in a cost of living crisis, aka 'helicopter money'.

Which won't cause inflation if the money is spent on essentials which are readily available.

And need not be accounted as government debt, because the central government can create money ex nihilio (like banks do when they issue credit (loans) for credit worthy customers) - unfortunately impermissible at present.

Hence ex DOGE CEO Musk, captured by Neoclassical 'balanced government budget' dogma, won't like it.

Good post.

Note, spending by lower income people on essentials won't cause inflation if those essentials are readily available.

As for  the "revenue from tariffs" narrative, that remains to be seen...
