We can’t really expect the woke left, Labor/Greens/Teals to end their affair with multiculturalism and mass immigration but there is an open goal right in front of the Coalition should they have the wit to take it.  Their aversion to ‘populism’, however, and their desire for ‘respectability’ with the multi-culti establishment, plus their addiction to hopes of claiming a big slice of the ethnic vote, has seen them trade principled political policy for crude electoral calculus.

I still don't understand Privatised Electricity.

So private companies brought our electricity. The government at the time took the quick $$ and built stadiums for the Olympics. The overseas companies then charge us a premium for the electricity.
They then fail to invest in the necessary need to maintain the power plants they own.
We the TAXPAYER are now up for billions to replace the infrastructure.

Then private companies then take control of the new plants for free and continue generating profits for overseas owners?

Why do we have to worry about blackouts and burnouts?

It’s not ( any longer ) a public service it’s a private for profit  industry.

If the private company cannot provide the service then they should lose the right to provide the service and the government can sell it off again to a new private company that believes they can.

This whole corporate welfare system in Australia is simply bizarre.

Why not just keep the power plants in public ownership and just give these overseas companies money?


It might work out cheaper for the taxpayers?

Coal is the cheapest, far cheaper than wind and solar. In fact coal is not even comparable to wind and solar because wind and solar cannot even compete with coal. Wind and solar are only viable if they are backed up by coal or gas. So to even have wind or solar the first thing you need to build is a coal or gas to provide the gaps in wind and solar.

Well if the sun is blocked by thick clouds for many days in a dark winter,
solar panels won't produce much power,
and there's no wind for wind turbines, no water stored in a hydro reservoir,
or an important transmission line is down,
large battery storage only lasts a few hours,
then we could be without power.
What will we do?
Most hospitals and places like airports have diesel generators
that can go as long as diesel is supplied.
Did you know that petrol stations can't pump diesel or petrol
without electricity?

A low emission coal power plant could save the power grid.

A large part of that involves all consumers being exposed to the fluctuating spot price of electricity. We have plenty of options to choose from - conventional batteries, pumped hydro, gas peaking, conventional hydro etc. Snowy II and the grid connection to Tasmania will be a big help.

I think it's too late now -
they are closing down coal fired power stations.
Many have already closed here in Victoria.
Our population has increased creating more demand.
It's only a matter of time till we have massive brown outs and blackouts.
Victoria and many other States are like a house of cards waiting to collapse.

Nur, a Somali national who arrived in the UK illegally in October 2024 by small boat, had his asylum application rejected in January this year. Five months later, on 6 May, he walked into a branch of Lloyds bank in Derby, in the East Midlands. Johal, a complete stranger to Nur, happened to be waiting in a queue inside the bank. Nur pulled a knife from his trousers and forcefully stabbed Johal in the chest.

Nur was in and out of the bank in just 22 seconds. And just like that he had devastated the lives of Johal’s wife, his two children and his wider family and friends. The CCTV footage of the murder, replayed in court, drove several distressed family members from the room in tears. ‘Our lives didn’t just change’, read their impact statement. ‘They shattered… We are tormented by “what ifs.”’

Nur was sentenced not two days after a triple stabbing in Uxbridge. Wayne Broadhurst, a 49-year-old refuse-collector, was stabbed to death while walking his dog around the block. A 45-year-old man was left with life-changing injuries, while a 14-year-old boy was also attacked.

Like Nur, Broadhurst’s alleged murderer had also entered the UK illegally. An Afghan national, he had arrived on the back of a lorry in 2020 before being granted leave to remain in 2022.

There’s Abdul Ezedi, another Afghan, who was granted asylum on his third request, despite racking up two sexual offences here. He threw alkali on a refugee woman and her children on 31 January 2024, before going on the run and killing himself.

Ethiopian national Hadush Kebatu had been in the country just eight days when he sexually assaulted a woman and a 14-year-old girl in the Essex town of Epping in the summer.


The public have simply realised that our asylum system has become a route for illegal migration, and so dysfunctional that it struggles to deport convicted criminals – let alone those with no legitimate claim to asylum, or those who are unable and unwilling to integrate into society. It has become a menace to the safety and security of British citizens, and of law-abiding migrants and refugees alike.

You may have noticed… it is never the elites who pay the price for their own feckless virtue-signalling. Poor and working-class communities have borne the brunt of the small-boats crisis, simply because the hotels and rental properties are cheaper there. One analysis found that a quarter of all asylum seekers housed by the Home Office had been placed in just 10 local authorities, nine of which are among the most impoverished in the country. Illegal migration is a class issue. The bin man slain on a once-safe street is perhaps the grimmest symbol of this.

There are two classes of citizens in Australia, those that are happy to be Australian and those who want to be different.
Are Muslims who want Sharia law the same as citizens who abhor the thought?

Comparing Indians and Muslims is rather stupid [but to be expected], Muslims are members of a political movement with religious overtones whereas Indians are citizens of an independent nation, some of whose citizens are Muslims but the majority of citizens belong to other religions .

Are you fit to be a citizen of Australia, many have their doubts?

I was born in Australia, unlike Soren who is an immigrant.  Under Australian law, there is only one standard of citizenship which I fit.  I have served in the Australian Army and sworn alliagence to Australia and it's ruler (in my case, the Queen) and I fully support the Australian Government.  The doubts expressed by others are nonsense and are of no value.  I am Australian, as are all citizens of Australia, be they born here or are recent arrivals.  Soren and it seems you believe they are better than all the other citizens for some obscure reason.  Tsk, tsk, tsk... ::) ::)

I have indeed noticed an absurd degree of diversity casting in advertising, which is utterly disproportionate to the shifting mosaic of this country. Along with that, I’ve noticed an abundance of mixed-race families, almost invariably with a black father and a white mother. I would also probably say, once the Panorama undercover agent had plied me with enough drink, that I find it tiresome, frustrating, wearying to have to pretend that I haven’t noticed this. That I am still clinging to the colourblind consensus that we had all signed up to happily in the Nineties, before certain people started taking the piss.

So, let’s all just treat each other with a bit more respect? Stop pretending that nothing has happened? That the left hasn’t campaigned precisely for what we’re now seeing on screen? And let’s agree, as the world fractures into an ever-growing archipelago of identity, that representation does actually matter?

There has been much handwringing in the press lately over the progressive rewriting of Roald Dahl’s books, as though this were a bad thing. If I had my way, every copy of every book by every straight white male would be incinerated. Burning books that we don’t approve of is the only way to stop fascism.

Dahl’s books are compendiums of violence masquerading as “fiction”. For instance, he describes the character of Augustus Gloop as “fat”, which is extremely offensive to People of Girth.

Dahl has a history of offensive behaviour. In the first edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1964), the Oompa-Loompas are black pygmies from “the very deepest and darkest part of the African jungle where no white man has been before”. Nearly a decade after the book’s publication, Dahl himself changed the novel so that the Oompa-Loompas were no longer black. He literally erased all the black characters — and we’re meant to believe that he wasn’t a racist?

Dahl has also been accused of antisemitism, which I absolutely can’t abide. I adore Jews. They’re so smart and cunning.

Ultimately, the problem isn’t Dahl — it’s the English language. I genuinely believe that writing or speaking English is an act of colonial terrorism.

So instead of simply tinkering with children’s literature, why not just stop teaching children how to speak in the first place? Dangerous language normalises hate and wrong opinions. To live in a truly free society, there must be limits on individual forms of verbal expression. So, if we never talk to children, or provide them with books, they will simply grow up without the capacity to express hateful ideas.

I can’t believe no one else has thought of this.
