Lots of facebook articles and news snippets of an impending move by Barnaby to One Nation. It would be political suicide IMHO, but then again, Barnaby isn’t the brightest tool in the shed and I am sure the Nationals would like to palm him off as quickly as possible. His days of glory have gone, and I think he is just an embarrassment to the Nationals. I wonder what the good people of Armidale would think of this though - I am not sure they would continue to support him, and One Nation, if he made the move

I speculate you haven’t visited the New England region anytime lately?
Unfortunately via work it is a common occurrence for myself. In security business you have to go where the work is. Armadale and especially Tamworth are two cities I can be assured of being offered to buy meth, heron or speed with in hours of arrival. My record was Tamworth and being hit up if I needed anything to smoke as I was getting out of the car at the petrol station on arrival! Tamworth is Australia meth capital hands down. The few “ good people “ in the area are my customers and every single one is desperate to sell up and get out. Barnaby Joyce has done amazing things for his electorate, unfortunately none of them positive. |

Your displayed your own mentality when you tried to identify me with Hamas: https://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1645944963/1245 #1256. Meanwhile, social breakdown is increasingly evident in Oz (in cities and regions), as you notice, but you don't have a clue why it's happening. [Luke McGregor tried to explain MMT to Barnaby, on Q&A a couple of years back, but Barnaby ain't the smartest tool in the box, as you notice; everyone "knows 'taxpayer money' is required to fund government" ...] Deplorable. Good to see the Libs going the way of the dodo; now all the country needs is for Labor to disabuse itself of Neoclassical economic orthodoxy, and limit immigration numbers until everyone in Oz is securely housed and employed. Even Pauline would be pleased.... |

Mate being responsible for the social decline and economic collapse that’s coming is well outside both my job description and pay rate. I don’t pretend to know the answers nor am I a paid politician on more than 250k a year employed to know the situation. Or solve it. I don’t pretend to. I can offer advice to yourself and your thread and thoughts basically only you choose to post in. Absolutely no one takes your advice or opinions seriously and regardless how valid they might be. Get a life while you still can. |

Ah yes. MMT, the theory that has not even been tried to see if it stands up to testing. In other words unsubstantiated. ::) |

It's economomics from first principles, based on logic; unlike the current Neoclassical orthodoxy which has forced Chalmers to gamble on the stock market to (hopefully!) raise funds off market so he can build some "affordable" homes while 'balancing the budget' ....yet the HAFF has failed miserably to reduce homelesness or housing stress. The poor bugger (he's not even an economist) doesnt know the Oz treasury can create Oz dollars ex nihilo (principle #1). Meanwhile governments are failing everywhere to promote social cohesion because politicians are trying to 'balance the budget' - the US govt. is currently shut down, and the French PM has avoided a no confidence motion and government collapse by agreeing to drop Macron's pension "reforms". There's the "empirical proof" the current 'balanced budget' orthodoxy doesn't work.... |

Fair enough, macro economics is boring for most people (even though many like you enjoy a flutter on bitcoin or gold....microeconomics). But your opportunistic stanza at the bottom of your last post in the MMT thread suggests a closed mind unable or unwilling to learn. Meanwhile our societies are collapsing around us, with youngsters seeing no way to home ownership. |

“ Now, it has emerged that Pauline Hanson is targeting a range of disaffected MPs, including Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, who was recently banished to the backbench.” If corrupt suso isn’t sacked by the LNP (. She will be ok, she has all those Gold Coast investments she gained by stealing taxpayer money like a common junkie stealing a car) by tomorrow then they then the LNP is finished in politics in Australia. They can go sit with the democrats is how relevant they will be. |

Sussan Ley is not a serious alternative PM, not even to someone as ridiculous as Albo.
