It's 1pm here in Perth, and the temperature is just 8.6 degrees.

And it's raining, non-stop.

It's like Melbourne here today   :-/

3:15pm: it's just dropped to 8.0 degrees and the rain is pelting down.

I believe this might be the coldest day in Perth I've ever experienced.

5:30pm:

10 degrees half an hour ago, still cloudy and wet.

I have this little fan heater running on my computer desk, the temperature in here is 14 degrees (see the thermometer on the desk in front of the speaker).

I really should take the laptop into the living room and put the big gas heater on. Might do that later.

Coldest day in 50 years.

Perth shivers through coldest day in 50 years as residents marvel at rain, hail

Quote:
Perth has shivered through its coldest day in 50 years, recording a maximum of just 11.4C on Monday.

It has not been since July 29, 1975 (when the maximum was also 11.4C) that the temperature in Perth has stayed so low during the day, with the city also copping a lashing from rain and hail.

It is also the coldest August day ever recorded at the Perth weather station in Mt Lawley, with the previous lowest maximum in August being 12.1C in 2020.

16 degrees forecast for tomorrow. I wonder if we'll get there? 14 degrees was forecast for today and it only made it to 11.4.

Ah.

I thought so.

I don't remember ever experiencing such a cold and wet day in Perth.

Still frickin' cold - 6pm and it's 5.7 degrees.
