A 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl have been sentenced for killing an 80-year-old man out walking his dog in a park.

Bhim Kohli died the day after he was assaulted in Franklin Park, yards from his home in Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, on 1 September last year.

The boy, who racially abused Mr Kohli before slapping him in the face with a slider shoe, was sentenced to seven years in custody at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday.

The girl, who encouraged the assault and laughed as she filmed it on her phone, was given a youth rehabilitation order of three years and made subject to a six-month curfew. Both were convicted of manslaughter.

In a 'perfect' world, imo, they should each pay, with their own lives being forfeit.

Before passing sentence, Mr Justice Turner told the boy he did not find he attacked Mr Kohli due to his race, even though the court heard he used racist language.

I heard dreadful screams of pain and yelling two doors down in Sydney. Two Polynesian girls had attacked a white girl. When I had got to them, they were stomping on her head viciously and kicking her. The white girl screaming in fear. The Polynesian girls were calling her a white racist so and so. I stopped the incident.

The next day, the police asked me to make a statement at the station. I told the truth. The Polynesian thugs had bashed her because she was White and a Racist, while calling her racist names.
I learned from the cops that the assailants asked her for a cigarette and the victim merely replied that she didn't smoke. Racism?

I've worked with a guy who had been shot (handgun) in the leg by two Polynesian guys who approached him demanding a cigarette.
He also didn't smoke. He told me they called him a few 'white' things before shooting him. The bullet severed an artery.

I had helped for a few years to rehabilitate an Afghan guy with the effects of a stroke. I learned many years later, because I recognised his picture in the news that he had recovered enough to drive taxi. He died from being bashed by some Polynesian women.

It was early evening, and as the men passed rows of terrace houses, redbrick warehouses and the Piccadilly Cinemas, which was advertising a Hindi-language epic set during the British Raj, they chanted “Jai Shree Ram” (“Victory to Lord Rama”). With sizable Somali and eastern European populations, the city is what sociologists call “super-diverse”. When the writer JB Priestley visited Leicester in the early 1930s, it struck him as rather dull. “It seemed,” he wrote, “to lack character, to be busy and cheerful and industrial and built of red brick, and to be nothing else.”

Something else has changed since the heyday of the Leicester model: more Indians have migrated to the city. This matters because many of the young men who marched to Green Lane Road in September 2022 were drawn from relatively new migrant communities. In particular, they hailed from Daman and Diu, two coastal territories next to Gujarat. These places were not colonised by Britain, but Portugal, which only relinquished its Indian colonies in 1961. Through this twist of history, many people from Daman and Diu are eligible for Portuguese citizenship. Some ended up settling in Britain as European citizens before Brexit. At the time of the 2021 census, there were 18,862 Portuguese passport holders in Leicester – that’s 5.1% of the city’s population, the largest such proportion in the UK.

The Daman and Diu communities disturb the stereotypical image of Hindus in Britain as well-off professionals. Many work in Leicester’s garment sector or in warehouse jobs. (One of the city’s biggest employers is a company called Samworth Brothers, where staff and agency workers make salads and pastries for high-street brands.) Boy and girl sentenced for killing dog walker, 80

A 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl have been sentenced for killing an 80-year-old man out walking his dog in a park.

Bhim Kohli died the day after he was assaulted in Franklin Park, yards from his home in Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, on 1 September last year.

The boy, who racially abused Mr Kohli before slapping him in the face with a slider shoe, was sentenced to seven years in custody at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday.

The girl, who encouraged the assault and laughed as she filmed it on her phone, was given a youth rehabilitation order of three years and made subject to a six-month curfew. Both were convicted of manslaughter.


The boy is a violent racist.

I was born and raised around that area in a village called Welford.
In the seventies one brave Sikh family moved in for about 8 years then moved to Leicester to be near a Sikh temple. The census of the time recorded a population of 90% Christian 10% others.
Today that reads 1 third Christian 1 third Hindu/Sikh and 1 third Muslim. I went to my Mothers funeral 8 years ago and there was no assimilation or integration with Muslims some with the Hindu/Sikh.
