They can have all the support they want in town. Why should we spend a fortune supporting them if they choose to go to some remote place where it costs a fortune just to get support to them?

Why?  The Golden Culture has thrived for 50,000 years - why upset the balance now?

Now let's look at what they want and expect for nothing...

Oh - I get it - they were never stranded historically by floods and such - somehow have nowadays lost their cunning lore etc... and living even partially the White Man's way includes rising costs of living.... damn that car for not making it in ten hours across that 600 miles...

"Despite their deep knowledge of the country, they were shocked at the downpour."    Uhhh - yeah ... yeah ...

"When they were finally rescued by a helicopter, the community breathed a sigh of relief."

Well - that IS a relief.... mebbe wanna go Wharte Man Way, Uncle... sim 'im work better many time, ay?

Look - in all seriousness - there needs to be some resolution of all this - two totally separate societies/states/cultures living in the same space simply will not work.  People can't say they want nothing to do with the White Man's Way unless it is all the good bits... it just can't work that way and that makes them nothing but a burden on everyone else.

Give me your poor huddling from the Outback rain, your hungry, your downtrodden - but don't let them tread down on anyone else and especially on those in the same boat (or lack of it in the floods) ... and I beg you - after Normandy - if you must, put us down in Hell - but put us all down together!

What are YOUR answers (apart from the usual snipers in the hedgerows here)??

Did the rain dance wrong.  :D

It worked for 40,000 years.

Despite their deep knowledge of the country, they were shocked at the downpour.  "Big rain," Mr Walker says, arms extended towards the sky.

;D ;D ;D

Quote:
"The shop is dear," Anangu woman Ms Brown said, with Mr Grant nodding in agreement.

"You've got to go in with $300 or $250 to buy a lot of food."
Mr Lark said the extreme freight and fuel costs required to get food to Tjuntjuntjara — via Alice Springs, Adelaide and Ceduna — added to the high prices.

It's a joke really - all this going back to country.

They obviously can't survive out there - so all the hype about living there for 25,000 years is an irrelevance.

Why can't they supplement their diets with more bush tucker?  Go hunting.

Whinging about toilets & showers & air conditioning not working - I can just imagine why.

They choose to go back to the desert & whinge about the temperature.

This community is one of dozens of remote Aboriginal communities spread out through the desert areas of WA & Sth Aust plus all the remote cattle stations out there.

How do they get on for supplies during these weather events?

Nearly everyone of those remote communities has a Services Australia(Fed Govt) presence.

The building in Tjuntjuntjara is the largest building there.

Back to country, back to living the customary lifestyle.
Back to running tap water, flush toilets ‘an ‘lectric stoves.

Let’s not forget the AC

Bloody compass and weather reports from BOM ..... if they'd been on foot it would be no worry at all - all over by the time they got there!  They're just gonna have to abandon the White man's Way and return to The Golden Times.

Downe at Ye Olde Stampinge Groundes after a six month trek:-

"Ay, Errol - look lahk we had a bit flood 'ere!  Look at dem marks in dat Wharte Man road.... 'Boriginal road never end up lahk dat!  My grand-fatha 'e tell me so!  Good thing we took the scenic tour and missed dat flood, ay?"
