Le Pen has accused the prosecutors of seeking her "political death", arguing the provisional execution request was "completely disproportionate".

She and her allies allege a witch-hunt to keep the RN out of power, echoing claims made by US President Donald Trump over his legal woes.

It is not just Le Pen and her allies who have expressed concern over what they see as judicial overreach.

The ruling has prompted international reaction, including from tech billionaire Elon Musk, who claimed it would "backfire, like the legal attacks against President Trump".

Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin, as well as some left-wing rivals, have signalled discomfort with judges — rather than voters — deciding who can run for office, underlining a backlash against "lawfare".

That has led to prosecutors and a judge receiving online death threats, Reuters reported, part of a growing international blowback over perceived judicial efforts to police politics.

Lawfare it is.

Seems rather convenient that a debatable decision over the use of funds has resulted in the front runner in the next French election being barred from holding public office.  This could well backfire on those who organised it. ::)

I don’t support her in anyway other than that I support her right to run in a democratic countries election.

No one will be forced to vote for her but no one should be forced not too.

Romanian opposition leader banned
Brazilian opposition leader banned
French opposition leader banned
Ukraine suspended all elections
Moldova bans opposition party
Germany tries to ban the AFD
America tried to ban Trump

All in the name of saving democracy

Quote:
A top Romanian court has annulled the first round of the country's presidential election, days after allegations that Russia ran a campaign to promote the far-right outsider who won.

Reformist candidate condemns decision
Ms Lasconi strongly condemned the court's decision, saying it was "illegal, immoral, and crushes the very essence of democracy."

"We should have moved forward with the vote," she said.

"We should have respected the will of the Romanian people.

"Whether we like it or not, from a legal and legitimate standpoint, nine million Romanian citizens, both in the country and the diaspora, expressed their preference for a particular candidate through their votes.

"We cannot ignore their will."

That is too Democratic in Europe, Canada and the US. Not allowed.

The French watched the Lawfare against Trump and learned how to block out the most popular candidate.

Same in Germany, same in Italy, Romania, Netherlands, UK. The will of the people must be over-ridden at every turn. You can't vote your way out of the Uniparty establishment.

When people Frannie aligns with get caught breaking the law, it's "Lawfare".

When those he doesn't like get accused of something, they're guilty until proven innocent.

Such brilliance.
