Title: Feral cat program SW Qld Post by Baronvonrort on Mar 1st, 2025 at 7:37pm Quote:
Non lethal alternatives? are these greenies stupid or on drugs the problem is cats are killing and eating native species leaving them there isn't going to stop cats eating them. Nearly half a million bucks of taxpayers money to fund this program Thermal scopes while expensive are a game changer for night hunting. They are vital for hunting nocturnal creatures like feral cats. |

It's $100 per dead feral cat in the outback.
Sadly, it's too little too late. The feral cat, boat, camel, horse, deer and dog problem has only escalated in population despite the decade after decade of so called programs to stop them. Even fireweed and fire ants have proliferated more than declined. |

He was hunting feral pigs came across feral cats bagged 9 of them.
Thermal scope white is hot black is cold -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8sVARejS_0 New type of thermal scope uses a screen like phones have. You can zero reticle for sight has ballistics info for different guns/ammo etc and laser range finder. Unlike a normal scope where you need to shoulder rifle to see through it this screen allows you to shoot from the hip or just about anywhere else. It might be the future with optics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVdzu0Cmbyk |

The finger muscles of the modern gamer warrior far excell the body muscles of the warriors and hunters of old. ;D
Seriously though, instead of drafting teenage kids and 20 something's for war. Retirees could be the more effective alternative. At least they won't be afraid of dying. |
