The control efforts include humane ground shootings, trapping and the use of thermal imaging scopes to locate and cull cats across eight sites in the Channel Country area. Non lethal alternatives?  are these greenies stupid or on drugs the problem is cats are killing and eating native species leaving them there isn't going to stop cats eating them.

Sadly, it's too little too late. The feral cat, boat, camel, horse, deer and dog problem has only escalated in population despite the decade after decade of so called programs to stop them.
Even fireweed and fire ants have proliferated more than declined.

New type of thermal scope uses a screen like phones have. You can zero reticle for sight has ballistics info for different guns/ammo etc and laser range finder.
Unlike a normal scope where you need to shoulder rifle to see through it this screen allows you to shoot from the hip or just about anywhere else.
