Largely true, particularly from a few years back, but recently the rot has set in.

He is often duped by frauds, whom he has taken to defending like a tag team, particularly when they are pushing conspiracy themes he enjoys - even to the point of defaming those true experts who challenge the frauds.

The Trump interview was Rogan at his worst, revealing that he is most vulnerable to truly professional influencers, like Trump, who has spent a lifetime in the public spotlight and has melded his entrepreneurial experience with political experience.

It was pathetic to see that he was putty in Trump's hands.

He ranted in lockstep with Trump about the lies of Harris and Walz yet did not challenge Trump on a single contentious issue or many of Trump's lies or exaggerations.

In contrast, Theo Von - the dufus in chief - proved less vulnerable than Rogan.

It appears Rogan imagines himself as 'up with it' as those he interviews - probably basing this solely on his popularity.

He is a gifted conversationalist but, outside his areas of expertise, he ranks very low as an insightful interviewer.

I don't think that is a conspiracy theory.

A conspiracy theory has to be about official propaganda. Often it targets real 'conspiracy, ie deliberate political false narratives. Sometimes it sees conspiracy where there is only stupidity and incompetence. 

The ABC is not politically impartial in its current affairs coverage. It is obvious to any cursory observer - but NOT to ABC cadres. Which side is conspiring here, to present a deliberately false view?

What we do know, though, is Rogan slagged Harris off during the Trump interview and acted throughout as Trump's bitch.

Rogan made reference to 'The View' panel and how they all loved Trump before he ran for office - to which Trump agreed and added more to the story.

Rogan said he couldn't play the clip to prove it due to possible copyright issues.

The difference between Rogan ( and podcasters, Twitter etc) and Wiliams's ABC is the variety of political and cultural views and perspectives on the former and the homogeneity on the latter. You will never hear an interesting debate or discussion on politics or culture on the ABC. You already know what line the ABC will take on any political issue.

You will never hear a non-lefty nor will you ever hear a lefty challenged on the ABC. Lotsa interruptions and gotchas when a non lefty is interviewed. That is why, for example, Lib Nats and other ever-so-sliggtly-right-of-left-of-centre stopped going on QandA.

The difference between Rogan ( and podcasters, Twitter etc) and Wiliams's ABC is the variety of political and cultural views and perspectives on the former and the homogeneity on the latter. Actually Tom Switzer, director of the freemarket think tank the IPA, had a RN program 'Between the Lines' which featured good  poltical analysis from a Conservative view point, and he often interviewed well known Conservative figures. Ditto for Amanda Vanstone (former coalition MP) with 'Counterpoint'.  And the Drum also featured 'individual rights' ideologues with whom I often disagreed.

And I remember Barnaby Joyce on Q&A rubbishing Luke McGregor's explanation of MMT.. "of course govt. debt has to be paid back by taxpayers, you halfwit..." (my paraphrase).

In fact, the ABC is largely a neoliberal  freemarket cheerleader: Philip Adams called in a mainstream economist (on LNL) to explain MMT, when he should have interviewed an MMT economist.

But much serious analysis has been lost to budget cuts, I think many of those programs are gone or will soon go.

Sanders explained why US healthcare is twice as expensive as other first  world countries (like Canada); and yet thousands of Amercians go bankrupt every year because they cannot pay medical costs. The problem is greedy pharmaceutical companies making massive profts from overpriced drugs. Sanders wanted to pay for publicly funded health care, and elimate student debt,   by levying taxes on billionaires and multi national companies who often pay near zero tax.
And a 0.5% tax on Wall Street speculators, ie day traders who don't create wealth for the country (like Warren Buffett) but merely bet on rising and falling stock prices; apparently that alone would raise $2.4 trillion (because the US stock exchange is so huge).

At one point Joe asked Bernie if he had used cannabis, :"Yes, a couple of times, but it didn't do anythign for me".

Whereupon Joe  reveled this interesting snippet: "Yes, I used it many times, and - oh, man!...."

It is not the public broadcasters role to counter anyone.

There is plenty of commercial lefty media, let them counter all they like.
