Did you see the US and allies throughout Europe throw weapons and cash at Ukraine when Russia first invaded Crimea ten years ago? No, you didn't because they didn't. The difference now is that Russia is mounting a full-scale invasion, unlike what they did in 2014, which was still wrong but was localised to one region. The US and the Western alliance couldn't prevail even over bearded goat-fancier with fertiliser in Afghanistan. Twenty years of war and 'nation building' and nothing to show for it.

Post maidan Ukraine is anything but democratic.
Criminals overthrew democratically elected government in 2014, then they prohibited opposition parties and started war in the east against those who would not agree with them.
Now they have dictator in Kiev who was not reelected and the Rada (parliament) was not reelected either. Post maidan Ukraine is anything but democratic.
