Congratulations to the Queensland LNP for winning the election!   Sometimes, you need to have a LNP Government just to remind you how awful they are.    Every now and then in Victoria, the Liberals get in - stuff everything up in one term - then get thrown out.    I guess we will have to see how many actual promised things get done - and who gets plum jobs and positions and official postings.    Enjoy your 4 years!

As always, once the 'excitement' of seeing a change of government wears off it will soon become obvious that nothing has changed or will change - at least as far as the 'average' Australian is concerned.

It's been like this for several decades now with both Federal and State politics but the majority of the population never seems to notice it (or probably even cares).

The same 'phenomenon' has been noticed by people in the UK after their recent elections and change of government.

“Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason”

- falsely attributed to Mark Twain.

That best sums it all up, in my opinion.
