There is no doubt that the people of Ukraine are effectively a proxy US army. The US will fight to the last Ukrainian. The US will not allow a peace agreement that does not make the US look like a winner.

Ukraine is armed with US weapons, missiles, intelligence, and military advice and intelligence. It is not enough.

NATO and the USA are looking weak as their power and weapons have not dominated the war and Russia is advancing.

The Ukraine war demonstrates that the USA is not dominant over a well-armed opponent.

The outcome of the Ukraine war will be a destroyed Ukraine and a much poorer Europe with depleted financial strength from the costs of war.

Yes the EU and US are not nazis with 7000 tanks like Russia. Ukraine voted to join EU and NATO but still is not a member.

You actually think that by exercising restraint and reason NATO and the US are 'looking weak'?  You are discussing two bodies that successfully fought a two front war 1939-1945 while their opponents were incapable of doing that.

What makes you imagine they cannot do it again?  Especially when they are prepared this time and been building up for several years now.

Restraint and reason - the Ukraine war is not Europe's war - it is a local conflict between an invader from next door and a sovereign country.... the US and NATO may assist as they see fit, but essentially they are on the sidelines and watching carefully as Putin reduces the Russian military to desperate kulaks in the snow again... and NATO has heeded the warning signs and is rebuilding as we speak.

Talk about "looking weak" all you want... Vlad knows by now that any concerted effort from NATO  - which does not want to repeat mass loss of lives as occurred in previous wars - against his ravaged military forces will be in Moscow in three days.... and with the reach of air power these days - there is no safe sanctuary.

The greatest peril for the West at this time is the stupidity of Muslim nations in the ME in embroiling the world in their silly war, while Vlad is still running around..... and China taking the opportunity, in the event the West becomes embroiled in the ME and Ukraine, of thinking it can re-colonise Taiwan and such.

I await events in the ME with bated breath...wake up wondering what the latest is...

The fact is the US is happy to bleed Russia dry in a war fought by others; the US didn't give Ukraine sufficient arms to end the war quickly (after Russia invaded and failed to bring Ukraine to heel quickly).

Biden and NATO think Putin is bluffing about nukes,  Trump isn't so sure, and would rather end the war quickly off the battlefield.

I'm with Trump on that point.

Both Russia and Ukraine are being bled by the US's drip-feed of arms to Ukraine which has entrenched a WW1-type  stalemate.  We don't know who will collapse first: Ukraine or Russia, with the former supported by nations with a combined GDP 40 times that of  internationally-sanctioned  Russia. 

The cost in lives is deplorable, as always.

No, NATO made  itself look cowards by running away from Afghanistan the way they did.
