It is certainly true that Russia is never mentioned by the UK or America for its role in defeating Germany.

If it wasn't for people like Roger Waters the public would probably not even know that Russia was an ally of UK and USA in WW2.

Russia suffered more damage and casualties than all countries other than Germany and Japan.

The reason why "Operation Unthinkable" did not happen was attitude of people at the time.

So Russia won the war with no help from the Allies? I guess those convoys were a figment of someone's imagination.

And, Russia had zero regard for the lives of their soldiers and the purges left them with incompetent leadership

And..

Over the course of the war, the Soviets executed 158,000 troops for desertion.


Of the thousands of American soldiers court-martialed for desertion in World War II, Eddie Slovik was the only one put to death. One of the judges who convicted him looks back with regret.
