Title: Nuclear bomb was China's path to tech development Post by Laugh till you cry on Jul 23rd, 2024 at 2:13pm
China's nuclear program cost ~$4+ billion in the period 1959 to 1966 which was a huge amount of money in that era, particularly for China whose trade was minuscule.
China assembled huge teams of engineers and scientists and mostly developed nuclear bombs themselves with little outside help because the Russians pulled out long before a weapon had been created. However, what it demonstrated was that China had huge numbers of competent scientists and engineers and the management of these people and the programs. China exploded its first nuclear bomb 19 October 1964, five years after the program's inception. "On December 28, 1966, China successfully conducted its first hydrogen bomb test—only two years and two months after the successful explosion of its first atomic bomb." The nuclear weapon program heralded China's technological and scientific eveloution and development because it demonstrated the competence of the Chinese in Science, Technology and the successful implementation of bold development plans. https://thebulletin.org/2024/04/the-short-march-to-chinas-hydrogen-bomb/ Quote:

The racial superiority of China led to the destruction of Tibetan culture, as with Falun Gong and other religions. Finally, the Muslims were eliminated as a cultural group. Modern China has emerged from the ruins of Islam to develop a competent population. |

That suggests that the Germans were far behind the USA and UK in the research on nuclear weapons. Some times it takes only one strongly-opinionated scientist or engineer to make the difference between success and failure. |

You need to watch it. From 1939 onwards it was a race as to which country would be the first to have an Atomic bomb. They all knew it was possible. |

Capitalism was their path to development. All the CCP had to do was get out of the way and allow it to happen. As soon as foreign companies were allowed to, they poured billions into China in salaries and infrastructure to take advantage of cheap labor. As soon as China's citizens were allowed to, they started lifting themselves out of poverty, any way they could. With the only caveat being they had to let go of all the idiotic propaganda they had been force fed. The CCP's only achievement was a few decades of starving the Chinese people to death by trying to feed them all equally. The "miracle" recovery was just the CCP taking its foot off their throats - wow, the peasant is breathing again, congratulations Dr CCP on another successful bootectomy.

Egypt built pyramids using people and programs. As a result, it had pyramids. Pyramids gave them pyramids. Egypt had bigger and better ones than people who didn't have pyramids. Or even those who did. They ate their vegies and looked at a pyramid. |
