The both have the same advanced CPU - i5-1235U

Apple with its RISC chips produces laptops that have excellent battery life and produce little heat and outperform Intel chips.

Compare the RAM, number of processor cores, hard drive size (get SSD), and graphics card, if it has one. You need a fairly big hard drive just to run windows these days, plus whatever else you need. The other three will determine how fast the computer is, but that depends on what you are doing with it.
Then extra things that may not be relevant to you like number of USB ports, screen size and refresh rate, run time on batteries etc. |

I haven't had a laptop with Windows for about 15 years now. All I use is a Chromebook, with the inbuilt Chrome OS. Does everything a laptop with Windows does but with no viruses, no bloatware, and they're super fast. I can't see any reason why I would ever go back to Windows. |

Greggy:
https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/wp_religiousdebates "Religious" debates Note: this section DOES NOT exclusively refer to debates about religion. "Religious" debates are so called because they have a lot in common with (but are not necessarily) discussions of religion and politics. These consist largely of people expressing strongly held personal beliefs about things that can't be proven — supposedly in the interest of agreeing on the best way to do something important, whether it's attaining eternal peace, governing effectively, imposing morality upon others, or determining which gaming console is superior. And, like most such debates, they rarely result in anyone involved changing their point of view. Aside from being unproductive and ultimately pointless, these arguments consume inordinate amounts of moderator's efforts and erode the value of this open discussion environment. Examples of "Religious" topics include: Mac vs PC (vs Linux, etc) XBox vs PlayStation (vs Wii, etc) Android vs iOS (vs Windows Phone 7, etc) Holden vs Ford (vs Toyota, etc) Auto vs Manual transmissions Atheism vs Agnosticism vs Religion Evolution denialism Climate change denialism Automotive – ICE vs EV Threads which seek to unproductively perpetuate any of these debates will be closed or removed. Before you complain about a thread being closed or deleted due to a 'Religious Debate' ruling, its probably worth your time reading and understanding this excellent article from youarenotsosmart on how marketing companies manipulate us. |

Good morning Bobby.
Not sure what that has to do with Greg or this thread on OzPolitic? However, you do seem to have a bit of a 'bee in your bonnet' about Whirlpool these days, don't you? :-/ |

I've had this little 11" Lenovo laptop for about 3 years.
https://www.mobileciti.com.au/lenovo-ideapad-1-11igl05-notebook-celeron-11-6-64gb-4gb-emmc-grey Not much storage (64GB) or RAM (4GB) but it's OK for things like email and web 'surfing'. It originally had Windows 10 Home on it then I had Linux Mint on it for a while and now it has Windows 11 Home. ![]() |

Booby mods Environment but has NEVER made an environmental post.
Move him to Fringe, move Sad Kangaroo to Environment—1000% better for OzPol. |

I have a Lenovo laptop [Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics, 500GB SSD], the 7th since 2006 and it is the best I have ever had after Asus, Acer, Acer, Acer, HP, and HP.
The HPs were the worst of the bunch in eventually becoming so slow they became useless. I also decided to go to AMD when I purchased this laptop. The Lenovo laptop has been trouble-free. I recommend Lenovo after my experience. |
