Just Stop Oil said the paint was made of cornstarch and would dissolve in the rain.

Merriman said experts cleaned the orange powder from the stones because
they were concerned about how it might react to water.

While I support rational measures taken to reduce our carbon footprint, I only have one thing to say about these Philistines who vandalise artworks and ancient monuments. Everything these idiots do demeans their cause.
