People should shoot wild pigs out of a sense of national duty.

The reward is getting rid of a feral animal. We are required to kill off wild rabbits in Australia. Our cane toad problem is mitigated by us using hockey sticks and golf clubs on them. There is no need of a monetary reward to kill off feral pigs. I know that it would be nice. But, you are not going to encourage any more people to go out shooting pigs, like that. Maybe the current number of pig shooters (including my brother in law) might shoot an extra pig or two, if they are rewarded for their efforts. But, most people would not take up shooting pigs.

You don't have to eat them. Maybe bury them after you shoot them. Otherwise, it would be hangi time.
